But you don't say that to their face.
Exactly. We do that "game", too, but we never stop the car, open the window and say, "Hey, so, you were 10 points if we hit you!" Or, you know, tell these people when they're at work.

Apparently you don't, but I have. Not to people that are effectively strangers, though. But if you never say absurdly odd things to random strangers, man, I don't want to be you.

I see the other "bot" on here. I think it is Alea. Maybe? (If I'm right and the google bot is me. Or am I yahoo bot? Am I a bot at all??)

We are actually "hidden" members. It should be: visible members - hidden members -bots - guests

The Google thing is a bot, though. Hidden members will not show up in the "Who Is Online" list if you follow that link.

Facebook made me want a like button on Pweb.
Now Pweb has made me want a stamp of approval on facebook.

Yeah, I have been really wishing there was a like button here. I don't think I'd want a stamp of approval for Facebook, it would probably be greatly misused there. Like poking used to be.

You want to know how bad my memory is? I'm watching a documentary (One Day in September) and over an hour into it, I'm just realizing that I think I watched it before, probably within the last couple years.

Is that really so bad? I do that with books. I'll start reading one and realize I have an inkling of what's going to happen next because, oh yeah, I read this at some point!

I do it with books all the time. But usually, I have read the books longer ago than the last couple years and also I expect memory to be slightly better with audio and visual things (like movies) than with books.

Has anyone ever used Myxer for free ringtones? They have the Firefly theme song, the Ballad of Serenity, on there and I'm dying to have it. I just want to be sure I'm not being suckered into hidden fees or large quantities of spam via text.

They're legit. I used them when I was in college.

Nevermind. Just tried to send it to my phone but Verizon doesn't allow it. First time I've ever hated Verizon. So Myxer is out. Anybody know where else I can get this tone for Verizon?

If you already have the song you want to make into a ringtone and know what file type your phone uses (mp3 works on most newer phones), you can make it yourself using just about any audio editting program. There's even some free/shareware ones tailored specifically to making ringtones.

About the only problem you could run into would be getting the finished ringtone from your computer to your phone. iPhones have USB but with most other phones you'll have to rely on Bluetooth if your computer has it since mini/micro USB data cords are next to impossible to find.

You should be able to e-mail it to your phone, as well. For "dumb" phones, that means sending a MMS via e-mail. (Verizon used to be "your-number@vtext.com," but I don't know if that's still accurate.)

I'd say they're pretty much the opposite of "impossible" to find. They're pretty much "standard" with electronics these days. (Which is good, because I've had to use my Kindle charger to charge a phone while traveling on many occasions.)

Thanks guys and gals but I don't have the song on my computer. Some sites let you text it to yourself if you make one but I'd have to have the song first. I was kind of hoping to do this for free, but apparently Verizon is against free.

Got bored in the middle of Shadow of the Giant and began a Firefly marathon. Bout to cap it off with Serenity the movie. Only Fox could accidently make something good, realize their mistake, and immidiately cancel it. I wish I actual knew what those Chinese insults they were always using were 'cause I'd insert one right here. Stupid Fox. Back to SotG in about 2 hours.

Did you ever see Dollhouse? While I'll be the first to admit the first 5 or so episodes were wretched excuses for storytelling, once Fox backed off and let Whedon do his thing, it was amazing.

And then they canceled it.

Never saw Dollhouse. Fox really does seem to micromanage/mismanage Whedon don't they? I guess I should just be glad Firefly was popular enough to demand a movie that provided a little closure. Still, it would have been nice to have found out Book's background. He was to good a fighter/shooter to have always been a preacher.

Today's xkcd makes me feel really old, and it's not even talking about my generation. But that generation is my cousins! They absolutely cannot be in their 40's. Though I guess the fact that I'm facebook friends with their teenage kids really should tell me something...

Heh, I only watched the first four episodes and got tired of it, guess I should have stuck around. Except that then I might have fallen in love with it in time for Fox to kill it. Fox is the new NBC for killing shows I love. :(

Of course, the channel formerly known as Sci-fi has been doing a good job of that lately. Oh wait, they are NBC. Guess that network is still up to their old tricks with me.

I always thought it was heavily implied that Book was a former Alliance Operative.

There are lots of sites with the Chinese translations but here is one of them. It's fun to look at while watching.

Yeah, that's what I got too, but still I wanted to see those flashbacks and find out what made him denounce violence and pick up the Bible. Those would have made for a kick-A episode!

Thanks for BrownCoats.com, Luet. Those translations are great! Go tsao de Fox!

You've obviously never been shot in the kneecap if you believe he denounced violence.

I just facebook-stalked my way into realizing that this guy in a couple of my classes (who I think is rather cute) is married. Thankfully it was and is a very platonic thinking he was cute, but yea...awkward. People really should wear rings so I don't get confused, or at least talk about their spouses often enough that I know of their existence. Preferably before I make a fool of myself by being too tired and flirty.

Well, it's not an episode, but it does the job. Also, I find the Firefly-Serenity Chinese Pinyinary useful for the translations.

I hit a deer on my way home from work last night. Luckily I saw it with enough time to slow down from highway 60mph to about 20 or so, so I ended up with only minor cosmetic damage to my car and a dazed deer that flopped around in the ditch for a few minutes before running off.

Image

This morning my dad and I popped the plastic grill back in place and unbent the hood some. It's hardly even noticeable now. It's a little awkward opening the hood now, though, since the dent is right in front of where the latch is.
