So... testicular torsion hurts like a bitch. More so when, despite the prescription, my mom denies me the vicodin.

Wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy.

Dude, too much information.

Also: dear god, this sounds ultra-painful. Why does your mom deny you the vicodin?

Is that really too much information compared to other things that have been said at this forum? lolwut

Something to do with it being too strong of a narcotic and I could get addicted to it and it'll make me act abnormal or something like that.

Honestly, I'd love to feel what it's like to be Dr. House for a day - and love to see if I can consciously keep myself from acting different if I know the medicine is supposed to make me.

Also, I have really been kicking myself for forgetting volfield's name. I used to know it, and I remember it being odd and cool. But I can't remember what it was.

Wickety-what? Which episode was this?

Oh, right! He played young Simon! That's crazy. I totally didn't recognize him the first time I watched it.

Room-temperature water tastes better than cold water (from the same source in both cases, so I'm feeling confident in this being true).

Only if the water tastes relatively good to start with. When it comes to bad-tasting water, cold tastes better.

I personally like cold water best, even if it's great tasting water. It must be a personal preference.

Agreed! Somehow the coldness helps mask the badness.

In general I prefer cold over RT, but I will drink RT if it's good water that has just been sitting out too long. I didn't realize that some people actually prefer room temperature!

Mostly out of curiosity stemming from me looking up information about Mahjong solitaire, I ordered a Mahjong tile set from Amazon with birthday money. It seems odd and kind of complex, and we're going to be playing it today.

I once chocked on my water because when I took a drink of it, it was exactly my mouth's temperature and I so thought there wasn't any water in my mouth. I then breathed while attempting to check to see what was wrong with my water bottle and I was very surprised.

My brother finally picked his college this week and I'm not really happy for him. I'm more confused as to why he fell out of like with his top choice in a span of 3 hours. And its not like he'd never been there before.

In general cold things have less taste because cold has a numbing effect. This is why American Beer has to be served cold, because if you actually tasted it you would be hard pressed to swallow it. try drinking a budlight warm. horrid experience. Or consider how much sweeter and overpoweringly flavored melted ice cream warmed to room temp tastes. it's more like maple syrup, less like cream.

I lost my sense of taste last October and noticed a marked difference. You don't notice it so much until it's gone. Now I just want it back...

only distilled water tastes of nothing. Personally I love the taste of water, though a few places tap waters are not so pleasant. Nothing has ever been as good as the well water at my grandparents farm though. On the other hand, little water is worse than the 'well'* water at my other grandparents farm.

bottled waters all have distinctive tastes. Aquafina tastes foul and is like drinking plastic. Dasani is marginally better. Arrowhead is pretty excellent, as is Ozarka.

I've gotta say I agree. Tap water, bottled water, filtered water... all the same to me. But it's gotta be cold!

Water should be more than cool. Cold is the most important characteristic of good drinking water, followed very closely by wet.

Really? Cold?
I would think clean, free of bacteria, colourless...as all being far more important characteristics of good drinking water.

But then again, I work in water treatment, so I see an awful lot of unpleasant (yet technically safe to drink) water...

If it's not clean and free of bacteria it's not water it's "poison", and if it's not clear it's technically "fruit punch".

You can take ditchwater and filter it through charcoal - harmless since the bacteria are filtered out, but murky, gritty and I wouldn't want to drink it. Presumably tastes awful too.
