I don't know why word hasn't gotten around yet that military recruiters don't need to call me. This has been somewhat paraphrased to give you a better idea of the actual situation when they call. This could probably have gone in "things I hate" except that it's almost pathetically amusing.

Are you going to college?
"yes, in September"
Why aren't you in college now?
"I was tired of stupid people ordering me around without teaching me anything and needed a break from school" (note that I don't think this will be the case in college, I just needed a break)
How are you going to pay for college?
"I've been awarded more scholarship money then I need to pay my comprehensive fee, and now need to decide which smaller awards to decline"

*awkward silence*

Have you ever thought about the military?
"no, I don't like following orders, I don't like shooting people, and I don't like being shot at, but if I were to join the military it would be the air national guard so I could fly planes instead of spend 2 months pooping in trenches and taking awkward group showers during basic."

*awkward silence*

call me back, maybe?
"I'll pretend to take down your number, while you contemplate the 10 minutes you just wasted of both our lives, and I contemplate the fact that I could have been sleeping for another half hour"

[edit]
hahahaha, who was cool enough to name me The Bombadil?
"But the conversation of the mind was truer than any language, and they knew each other better than they ever could have by use of mere sight and touch."

April fools day is the one day a year I can be completely honest with people, like telling elfprince there he's a giant douche and I hate him, and people just shrug it off as a joke.

I think my conversation with a military recruiter went something like

"Have you ever thought about the military?"
"Hmm, nah."
"Okay." *click*

Thank you for thinking of me, Shawn, but there's no way in hell a Keith Urban album would be my theme album. Syphon and Steph got it right with the Wicked Soundtrack, more specifically the song 'Defying Gravity.'

I did a major double take in church today when one of the two girls who sat down in front of me looked like she could be Alea's twin or something.

Not to confuse you any further but I am also a clone, created to bring Silly to the Empi...to Pweb and apparently, your church.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I must look pretty generic as you're the third person to say they've seen someone who could be my twin. One here who was decidedly not me (she worked at Dillards and I didn't even shop there at the time, let alone work there), one in Tucson (who was not me because she was said to have worn colors other than black, gray, blue, and white primarily) and now one in Vermont.

(I almost responded with something about you seeing Fred there but I thought that might go over your head. Of course, I almost said we're planning on taking over the world but I have no idea why us looking alike would be helpful. This overshare brought to you by Yours Truly.)

hmmmm, I seem to remember that Fred is your Twinny. Also, Agent Smith seemed to find it helpful to look identical to himself when he took over the Matrix.....is there something you're not telling us? Also, do you have a skateboard + harpoon like my favorite Y.T.?

I guess that's an acceptable skateboard, I used to build those for my lego guys and use magnets to make them hover.

I also have the perhaps dubious distinction of the only pwebber, who has been around for less than a year, in the top 50 posters (though Valentine's not far behind).

Her original join date on this version of Pweb was 13 Nov 2006; she's also ValentineNicole. I can't tell you join dates for the other two versions of the board but it's an easy enough mistake to make given the crashes and such. :)

Because she is a goober.

Or for some really good reason that she failed to mention on the board or that I failed to notice. Maybe Adam knows.

best word ever! More people need to use it!

so I just went and looked and her old account says "I forgot my password" on it, which seems rather silly, since the admins can reset your password to anything you'd like.

also, human., when you see the time stamp on this, I'm going to bed now, I just couldn't resist checking pweb one more time.

my three favorite channels to watch, it's interesting seeing the commercials, Food network uses the commercial flow to really heavily promote their own shows and related channels (more than the other channels) they also have lots of ads for Gardasil, tampons/pads and probably 90% of the other commercials feature a thirty something smiling white alpha mom, usually walmart. the remaining 10% are cash for gold commercials

CNN is about 60% prescriptions, that's sans all the viagra ads which make up probably 20-30% of their ads. The remaining ads are either cash for gold, or occasionally more high end consumer products, financial planning etc. sometimes you'll also run into them slumming in a walmart ad to their flow.

Comedy Central features lots of cash for gold ads, girls gone wild ads, the girls finger trojan brand vibrator ad, movie trailers, gardasil ads, lots of beer and otc sleep medications. you don't see very many high end consumer products advertised on comedy central. you're more likely to see a Saturn ad than a lexus ad.

but it's sort of crazy just how often I see the cash for gold ads, considering I see less than an hour of tv a day, in general. it's almost a given that if I turn on the tv for more than ten minutes I'll see at least one (if not two) cash for gold ads.
So, Lone Star, now you see that evil will always triumph because good is dumb.

Sci-Fi advertises their own shows, online dating websites, male enhancement products, and food. It's like they have this really narrow target audience or something ;)

I have decided that the Young Ones is a hilarious show. It's nearly as good as Fawlty Towers and Monty Python..
