What's on your IPOD/Radio/Etc.

Postby lyons24000 » Fri Jul 04, 2008 10:03 am

What do you listen to?

On your IPOD (or radio, if it has this capability) select "Shuffle Songs" ("Random" for Radio) and tell us the first song that comes up. We had something like this on PWEB 2.0 and I decided to resurrect it because I accidently pressed "Shuffle Songs" on my IPOD. :D

What came up for me?

"Roulette" by System of a Down from the Album: Steal this Album!

it's not on shuffle, simply going down my purchased list so it's hit the four most recent songs I bought on itunes

Johnny and June - Heidi Newfield (this song is freakin awesome)

Walkin in Memphis - Lonestar

Tonight I'm Gonna Cry - Keith Urban (I'm just drunk enough/to let go of my pain/to hell with my pride/let it fall like rain)

As The Deer - instrumental

On shuffle...

First thing that comes up is James Earl Jones reading Hebrews chapter 5.

Yes, I have the Bible on my iPod. =)

Sounds almost as cool as Matt Damon reading A People's History of the United States.

Johnny and June is a very good song. I don't know if you like more Country Country or Pop Country but you might like a local band from here (North Central Texas, around Dallas) called "Bleu Edmondson". They just came out with a song called, "Last, Last Time" from the album "Lost Boy".

Then, there is a guy named Charlie Robison from here who sings a couple of good songs:

"Bar Light" from the Album "Life of the Party" (Bar light, bar bright/first bar that I see tonight/wish I may, wish I might/have someone to hold me tonight)

Another song by him from that same Album is called "I Want you Bad".

Then, there is a guy from I think Michigan named Stephen Cochran who is pretty good but he sings Pop Country. He just came out with a song called "Everything We Knew".

I'll make you a list if you like (because I like lists):

1. Bleu Edmondson-Last Last Time
2. Charlie Robison-Bar Light
3. Charlie Robison-I Want You Bad
4. Charlie Robison-My Hometown
5. Stephen Cochran-Everything We Knew

Remember, these are just suggestions of some good bands from around Dallas (except Cochran) that you might enjoy if you like Country Country and Pop Country.

First five songs to come up after selecting "shuffle all" on my Zune:

Daft Punk - Too Long/Steam Machine (Alive 2007)
Tony D. - Piano Grand (Mushroom Jazz vol. 2 mixed by DJ Mark Farina)
BT - Cop Killing (Music From and Inspired by the film Monster)
Jada - Another Day [Strings] (Perfecto Collection)
Kanye West - Hey Mama (Late Registration)

I likes my electronica music. :)

I don't really use an MP3 player anymore, but I have found a music application that I am fairly happy with at work.

After I downloaded Winamp recently I noticed that there was a preset for AOL Radio. I was astonished at how much better AOL's online radio was than yahoo's despicable Launchcast. I can choose from some really cool channels and they play decent songs.

The last couple of goodies that I discovered while listening are as follows:

Bother - StoneSour

Don't know the name of the song, but it was a trance album called "Macrophage"

From Yesterday - 30 seconds to Mars
Yeah I got a response............er..WHAT?

I'm happy you like them. Have you ever heard of any of these bands? Did you download them or just listen to previews?

Awesomely enough, Everything by Lifehouse came on first and that's probably my favorite song ever (yes, even including FOB songs).

Oh, you can check out my Zune profile, which lists all of the songs I listen to on my Zune. Though it hasn't been updated in about a week, and won't be updated until at least the 26th.
