It means his real name is Nezec, obviously.

But my real name is on the same scale of weird uniqueness. They're about even.

Question about something I just noticed: JL, your signature says "Member since: February 16, 1842". Why is that?
Who controls the British crown? Who keeps the metric system down?
We do! We do!
Who leaves Atlantis off the maps? Who keeps the Martians under wraps?
We do! We do!
Who holds back the electric car? Who makes Steve Gutenberg a star?
We do! We do!
Who robs cavefish of their sight? Who rigs every Oscar night?
We do, we do!

Heehee.

Two reasons:

1) I was waiting for someone to notice

2) It is just a reference to me being an oldbie. "I've been here forever" kinda thing.

Oh. That's nice =)

Any special meaning to the date though?

The Feb. date is the actual join date (I think) and I just liked the sound of 1842.

So... not really.

This is to no one in particular: did your parents ever say "Stop crying or I'll give you something to cry about"?

I'm just wondering if that's a Hispanic and/or regional thing, or if it's pretty universal.

No, but I heard it at my friends' houses (directed at them, not me).

Also, for what it's worth, it's the example of an invalidating statement I hear most often when DBT therapists explain what an invalidating environment is.
There's another home somewhere,
There's another glimpse of sky...
There's another way to lean
into the wind, unafraid.
There's another life out there...

Yeah, I guess it's not a Hispanic thing, cause we are Asians...

I just went back, and I guess you could misunderstand... Yeah, my Dad said that.

Yes, my dad would say it to me...usually through gritted teeth. It would make me feel awful. I think it's a terrible thing for parents to say.

The statement itself bothered me far less than the wooden spoon or belt that usually followed.

My parents use to say that to me also. They've also used "You know, you're ugly when you cry."

That one was far worse for some reason.

while I definitely know the phrase and know I've heard it used by an adult towards a child I can't think of any specific moment it was used against me, though I suspect it was.
They've also used "You know, you're ugly when you cry."

That one was far worse for some reason.
Dr. Drew's suggestion to a woman complaining that her boyfriend was obsessing over whether or not he was 'bigger' than her previous boyfriend (and father of her child) was, "say to him, That is so unattractive." or a variant of that. He said guys will respond very quickly to that while 'that makes me upset," or "I don't like that question" or "I've already told you" are all things they just won't hear.

Thus, the worst thing my parents could ever say to me was, "I'm so disappointed in what you did/your decision/you." or to my occasionally defiant older brother, "what would grandpa think of that, would he be proud? I don't know what I'm going to tell him."
So, Lone Star, now you see that evil will always triumph because good is dumb.

My parents would always ask if I wanted some cheese with my whine.

Sometimes it made me laugh, but if I was truly upset it would just make me cry more.

...I don't think I've ever heard anyone say that seriously. To me it sounds like the speaker is about the beat the other person to death.

My dad used to say that. And I'm not Hispanic and my dad was born and raised in the northeastern US.

It was my mom who made the threats, screamed, and wielded the blunt objects. I don't think I've ever heard my dad raise his voice.

-But you don't understand, Osgood!... I'm a man!
-Well, nobody is perfect.

Seriously XD profuse usage of emoticons doesn't mean the person is a girl >.>

But this is just a drop on an already overflown bucket lol. Most people online think i am a girl until i say otherwise. People in real life think i am gay <.< I wonder what is that i have that gives that impression.

My mind usually leant more towards a girl, but only because of the picture in your siggy.
However, I never considered that imageconnection enough of a base to make a conclusion.

People always assume I'm a girl, thinking that "Mich" is short for "Michelle" instead of a name a sixth grader invented after deciding the name "Mitchell" is cool. It's why I started using a handle that is just a change of my IRL name for everything other than P-Web.

Yes, well, "zero" means the absence of some quantity, so if we rewrite his username mathematically as "zero*guy, where man>guy>boy, we all know you end up with a big fat zero. Making him the opposite of THE guy.

Well that's in case you apply mathematics, but honestly, mathematics shouldn't be applied. Even touching them with the other end of a long stick is too much already ewwwww...
Imagine instead a well known franchise, called Guy. Then you have sequels, which could easily be named TwoGuy, ThreeGuy, etcaetera. If they decide a prequel instead, they would call it ZeroGuy, which would make ZG the precursor, the origin of the Guy!
