The Shift game is nice, but kinda annoying at the end.

There's a Shift 2 that picks up right where the first one left off and adds some new types of challenges.

I've working my way through Bloxorz the past couple of days.

A non-trial version would be lovely...Though it's an awesome game, I must agree.

That funny farm is addictive.
Heh. Nick and I are playing it together.

I've been working on Funny Farm all day, recruiting others to help as they signed online. Between Jani, Kim and a few other friends of mine, we've got 23 of the 25 cells open.

Damn that Desktop Tower Defense!

Okay, does it take something special to kill those damn black ghost thingies?? Because they just walk right through my maze like they were frolicking through an effing field of daisies....

Oh, and do me a favor and please don't look at the timestamps of my posts. I'd just be embarrassed if you figured out how long I've been playing this.

The "dark" creep? You have to have higher level (upgraded) towers to be able to damage them. I don't even notice much damage until you hit them with a level 3 tower.

Okay, so I went away for a few hours to, I don't know, accomplish something, and I had an epiphany. Up until now I was more concerned with having two or three squirt towers upgraded evenly. But a level four tower is crap. So when I focused on getting just one tower to level five, well, that's what it took.

I'm free.

Sweet God, I'm free.

So, I just decided to go ahead and post a list of most of the games I have a link to, in my favorites.

Some of these are pretty fun, some are a little geeky, and one is a little controversial (in my opinion)

Combination Lock
Disinfect the Core
Escape Rooms
Flash Space Game (Samorost?)
Interesting Chess Game
Lasers
Make Your Own Snowflake
September 12th
Poke the Bunny
Seven Samurai (Minus Three)
Soadplay
Stick RPG
GROW RPG
Mancala Snails
Tonite

Enjoy.

I remember playing these (the first three, I think, whichever those were). Good times! Something of a similar genre (except not horror-y) is the game "walking in circles", I think; don't have time for a link, should should be easy to find.

You Have to Burn the Rope is a pretty good game. Now that I've finished, I can get back to my homework.

I actually played that, yesterday. I was going to put it on my list, but didn't feel like looking the link back up.

It _is_ awesome, though.

Well, it's not a game, but it's distracting to the point that I keep playing with it instead of finishing it.

Annoying, because I was taught to put two spaces after a period, and I get marked down for doing that here. :(

It really is fun, though the quotes are repetitive.

My avg WPM's 48, and my maximum so far is 70. What's yours?

There is a sequel on www.armorgames.com somewhere - you may think the first level is a glitch, but it isn't

EDIT: Found it: http://armorgames.com/play/964/shift-2

I think I've got the problem solved, I just can't figure out what to do with the information. None of them change when I've completed the chart.

That might have something to do with the fact that I haven't finished making it, yet. It needs to be done by Thursday. We'll see if that happens.

Still not working. Can I just post my answers here and you'll tell me if they're true?

All right. I think it's as done as it's going to be.

I sat in this computer lab from 12:00PM April 30 - 12:00PM May 1 finishing it up. Let me know what you think.

I should note that it's not terribly difficult, by design. I'd like people to actually finish it. I could used a much harder puzzle.

As long as no one's replied yet, I'll keep adding to this: This is only as awesome as I had time to learn and attempt to implement the Actionscript required. You may notice that not a whole lot of time went into the visuals. This is because I didn't have any. Time, that is.

If I'd had time, there would have been extra mini-games to complete in order to obtain each individual clue. And the backgrounds would be inked/colored. And animated. Like, the train would be bouncing up and down slightly, with the background whooshing past. And there would be some sound. And the player's sprite would have been of my own design.

WS, I think that half of the charm is that it doesn't do all that stuff. I mean, when the character you control is a Super Mario World sprite, you don't worry about things like that too much.

On a side note, did you model those renders yourself, or use free ones off of the almighty internets? Also, what programs, plug-ins, etc.?

The 3D bits were all done in Maya Complete 2008, rendered in mental ray. I obviously didn't make the images for the sprite. The only directly borrowed code was what actually made him follow the mouse, which I found in a tutorial. I then hacked it up to make the background move in the opposite direction and to get him to run/walk/stand at the right times.

The biggest pain was the navigation. Had to keep looking up frame numbers and kept forgetting to assign instance names. And everything's terribly heavily nested, so all the controls were along the lines of _root.textFade.textOverall.text.gotoAndPlay(26).

I Wanna Be The Guy: The Movie: The Game. Not an easy game, but I find it quite enjoyable. I hate the way this guy implements wall-jumping, though. So far I have not used any spoilers or anything (which it seems like would barely help most of the time, anyway), and if you're cool you won't either.

Ugh, my brother has been going on and on about that game (the contraption one). He made me watch him do it on his computer. He finished all of the levels or whatever. It's just not my thing.

Knytt Stories. A couple of other games are on that site, but I just finished Knytt Stories (the level that came with it; got the "secrit" ending), so I wanted to share.

The general fun feel and level designs, aesthetics in general, and particularly the music (oh my, the music) are just... incredible. It's so very simply fun, and relaxing.
