An Idea to Reinvigorate Pweb

Talk about anything under the sun or stars - but keep it civil. This is where we really get to know each other. Everyone is welcome, and invited!

An Idea to Reinvigorate Pweb

Postby hive_king » Sun Jan 27, 2008 9:30 pm

It seems to me that pweb has become more and more lazy and slow moving as of late. I've been on pweb for what's coming up on five years, and I've never seen it so slow. It really makes me sad. So here is my proposal. I would estimate that we have at least a few dozen active posters, and an equal number occasional posters. If everyone were to make one thread a week, the board would be teeming. As it is, the board is almost entirely the "old reliable" threads like Bob.

So, one thread a week. What do you say?

Maybe it's just me, but if people had ideas of what to make into threads, they would have done it. I'd hate to encourage a new thread every week from everyone and see the board fill up with a lot of crap for the sake of activity.

That would be a 'no' from me. Not to discourage those who are interested.

:)

I gotta agree with PG here. I don't really see how making a bunch of new threads makes things move faster.

if every one made one thread a week threads would start repeating each other really fast or there would be a lot of junk in the way of the of the real stuff

If we could just implement a version of this on top of that idea.

Just an idea, even if it was just for a few weeks, to get things going, and to get people back interested into the board. If the board were to become more active, and more people were to look at the board more, i think it could help bring pweb back to life, and then we could resume our normal posting habits. I mean, it's worth a try.

I want Robot 9000 on the site! But then again, Robot 9000 was created to help clean up sites that get too much traffic.. That isn't exactly our problem, now, is it?

Argh, you people keep trying to take away all my time. I can't even read all of that new teacher's thread, let alone post in it (though I really really want to... gah).

Whoa.... I knew what you were talking about before I clicked. Like telepathy... That was weird.

Anyway... PWEB is WAY too slow. I've been away for six months and I'm still in the last page of game threads. That's not right. NOT RIGHT. Fix. Plz.

I'm with you guys, I think that encouraging posting for the sake of posting could lead to a whole lot of backup of stupid. As it is, if we all just keep up with threads we've posted in already, that would help. I know this is one of the first forums I've actually followed up on a lot of my comments. Maybe we should have contests or something. Fanart, fanfic, create a caption for this picture, SOMETHING. And the winner would get a prize, like a special title on the board for a month or something.

Pweb goes in cycles. We know this already.
