I was just reading the above article and thought it is pretty interesting. It's just exciting to think what's past our solar system.

Any thoughts??

If I could understand more than the half of the article, I would post my thoughts here...

Joking.

Actually, I find it amazing that a spaceship built 30 years ago (Voyager I) still travels that fast (10 miles/hour). Imagine what we could achieve now, by sending a Voyager III.
Who controls the British crown? Who keeps the metric system down?
We do! We do!
Who leaves Atlantis off the maps? Who keeps the Martians under wraps?
We do! We do!
Who holds back the electric car? Who makes Steve Gutenberg a star?
We do! We do!
Who robs cavefish of their sight? Who rigs every Oscar night?
We do, we do!

Another Voyager? So that the crew of the USS Enterprise can find it near the end of the 23rd Century and think its V'GerII, some other alien spacecraft different from the one they encountered in ST:TMP and it will fudge everything up until they find it and enter it (stupidly) and find its really filled with aliens who kill them all?

I remember Dr. Stephen Hawkin (cool guy in a wheel chair with the robotic voice) said it was a stupid idea to include a plaque with a star map of the coordinates of Earth engraved in it. If aliens ever found it, they could be led straight to Earth. Sucks for us.
For now all my concentration is focused on inertial control and navigation. Targeting isn't even a consideration - I will be engaging my enemy at arm's length.

I agree with Hawkin, we should meet them somewhere halfway, somewhere real public, with inaccurate signposts just to be sure.
If we don't like them, we can give them a DVD boxset of Big Brother, American Idol and X-Factor to put them off coming to our lovely planet.

I just think it's astounding that the Voyager craft are still operational.
