Music Confessions
This thread is sort of a combination of the "confessions" thread and the "current music" thread.
I myself love the song "Unwritten" by Natasha Beddingfield, and I feel like I should be horribly ashamed of that fact. Strangely, I'm not.
What are your guilty pleasures? (music-wise)

I have this song that I listen to all the time (and especially when I should be doing my work, like right now). I don't even know the title of it. It's in German. It's rap. I even understand the words. It's a terrible song. It's not that the words are vulgar, but it's just a really pointless song, with a really pointless tune/beat.
I love it. Too much.

Depending on my mood, I'll sometimes listen to Linkin' Park's Hybrid Theory, all the way through, with the volume turned way up.
I hate all their other music, I hate music of that kind in general. But that's the first album I ever really fell in love with, so it will always be special to me.

"I'm sliding down the rainbow of my childhood dreams"? That one? They see me rollin
one most of you won't know, called Childhood Dreams by Nelly Furtado
Is that on Folklore?
I sincerely like that CD. Which is why I am totally ashamed and pissed off at myself that I like Promiscuous. Total sellout. But kinda catcy.
There's another home somewhere,

There's another life out there...

Well, the first line isn't....though I imagine that would make quite the remix"I'm sliding down the rainbow of my childhood dreams"? That one? They see me rollin

"They see me rollin, they hatin, you're the little boy made for me, in the stars"....
But yes, that track is on Folklore, which I also sincerely like; but it's not exactly the most manly CD in the world if you know what I mean
And I am ashamed of you, too, for liking that song. Geesh. :-p I hate it with my very being...

you snooze, you lose
well I have snozzed and lost
I'm pushing through
I'll disregard the cost
I hear the bells
so fascinating and
I'll slug it out
I'm sick of waiting
and I can
hear the bells are
ringing joyful and triumphant

That's nothing to be ashamed of, Bevis. It's a catchy tune.
Young Val, you have no excuse!
Actually, the first time I heard Hilary Duff on the Radio, my friends and I started talking about what a good voice she had before we knew who it was. I hate to admit it, but she does have some talent.
So you're off the hook, Young Val.

so, i liked Nelly Furtado when she first garnered some attention. she was a sort of earthy-urban mix with a unique voice. and while i never went out and bought the album, i enjoyed singing along to her songs on the radio.
however, her recent come-back, complete with generically skanked out image, really annoyed me. i do not think "Promiscuous" is a good song by any standards.
however, i just heard "Maneater" for the first time a few hours ago. and while the verses are sort of whatever, i LOVE the chorus. it's so 80's synth-throwback. i LOVE it. and i'm listening to it on repeat now.
...damnit.

I have many guilty pleasures when it comes to music. My fiance doesn't like most of my tastes in music so when he isn't around I have the tendancy to break out the old Spice Girls cd and crank it on the stereo. Also, country and music like my chemical romance and the used... all of which are guilty pleasures of mine.

At first I was going to type something mocking you and asking how you could even admit to it... and then when I was typing that, thanks to you, NOW I ALSO HAVE THE DAMN SONG IN MY HEAD.I haven't actually been listening to it, but "Barbie Girl" has been in my head on and off over the past couple days.
I loathe you

Fiona Apple. I don't know why, but "Used to Love Him" is in my head. I shouldn't like Fiona Apple.

Nope. Fiona Apple falls into the same category as Tori Amos for me, and I don't like her either. I'm more a Sloan, Spoon, Plain White T's, Reel Big Fish kind of girl. When I'm in an indie mood, that is. Otherwise, it's classic rock or big band.
I'm ecclectic. But not Fiona Apple ecclectic. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to go listen to "Used to Love Him" for the fourth time today.

Oooh, a non-Canadian who's heard of Sloan! I've saw them in concert here in Albany at a small venue a few years ago and friends of mine got up on stage and got to play with them.
And I adore Fiona Apple (at least her first album, don't know the rest well)...Sleep to Dream is my "taking back self-respect" song.
