Okay, I'm not sure if I have some weird settings or something, or if everyone's set up like this.

My name doesn't appear in the "Users browsing this forum" list. Now I *know* I'm online and browsing this forum, but I'd appreciate it if it didn't try to tell me I'm invisible...

Wow, two of the problems I mentioned got fixed pretty quickly. I'm running out of the things to complain about.

Yes, yes I think so. We may not be as ancient as some the relics around here, but we are certainly more ancient than the newbies who await us and can speak well of times they can only wish they had known.

It's a bit hard to lord it over people who are in the same position as you.

I would like to humbly request a mod-hat. If more mods are desired/required.

Seriously, what all is involved in running the forum like you do, Amka? Do I have to know programing and such? If so I don't have the skills, but I do think I have the responsible nature and time commitment to be an "in charge" person.

If you do need any technical help, however, I can offer my assistance. (Do you guys ever modify the board code itself anyway? I don't know if knowing PHP helps me out at all here.)

these types of forums are pretty simple. knowing php helps on the back side, but most of the stuff they'd probably would want done would be using a handy dandy user interface.

Dahling, you aren't the arbiter of pweb rankings. It's been a part of pweb for a long time, and I, for one, would like to see it back. It's part of what makes pweb pweb, for me.

lyons, the sexy mod gods are likely, I am sorry to say, not going to take your one word post into account when deciding whether to put back a quintessential part of PWeb.

I think we can do the stars, but not for the time being.

Not everything, though. (For example, the current inability to upload avatars.... if that is actually a desired feature and not something that was simply disabled.)

By the way, was there any specific reason for this rebirth? Just curious, since I'm not aware of any right now. (Like, something crashed or otherwise broke.... or some problem with the old board software.... or we just felt like getting a new one?)

Out of curiousity, is there a button that can mark everything as "read" without you having to read all of it?

Because the little button to the left of the forum name is yellowish when you haven't read something in it. I really like that feature, because it lets you know straight off what you haven't read. However, I don't like either having the yellow thing be eternally yellow or having to click on every thread that is yellow before it turns grey again.

... does that make sense?

So, is there a way to mark things like that?

It could just be disabled. I'm pretty sure just about everyone has the ability to put things like that out on the web somewhere and not have to save it to pweb. *shrug* but i could imagine why it would be turned off.

you're right though, not everything is changeable through the interface, of course. most of the things that our mods would be taking care of though, are.
