Re: Wedding Planning!

We'll be staying in a cute little lake town, Grand Marais I'm late to comment on this, but Grand Marais is a great choice for a local-yet-far-enough-away-to-make-it-special honeymoon. It's a great little town. Kinda tourist trappy, but quaint, and cute. RE Gift Opening: it's most definitely a thing...

Does Canada have Netflix and Jack 'n the Box? You do realize that there are no Jack in the Boxes in Chicago, right? Also, Canuckistan isn't all that bad. It's the Newfie's you've got to look out for. On a semi-related note, I wanted to see who coined the term Canuckistan and found what could be my ...

I learned what my credit score was today, after wondering about it for years. A few years ago (2003) the Fair Credit Reporting Act was amended to require the big three credit reporting companies to provide a free method for consumers to review their credit reports. They worked together to create an...

The Chocolate Milk Stout turned out every bit as amazing as I had hoped. It also went fast. It was in high demand, and I only ended up with 4 bottles of it for myself. It's going to be the first beer I add to my regular rotation of beers that I brew. Still aging a gallon of it on Oak cubes, hope to ...

Now that I've had my Kindle Touch for nearly a month I can state unequivocally that I'm completely in love with it. Reading is so easy that I forget I'm reading on a device, and sink into the material in a way that I just can't when reading on my phone, ipad, or computer screen. My wife wants to ins...

I'm really not sure. That's a pretty vintage recipe and doesn't line up with a beer style that I know very well. I think the Treacle would make it a dark sweet beer, somewhat in line with a porter or stout. With that, I'd probably use an ale yeast of some sort. Probably a Dry British Ale strain of s...

Agreed, I remember when this place was first mentioned in the books and how awesome we thought that was. It's pretty awesome that the book mentions garnered so many long standing members.

Myself, I think I used Metacrawler but I'm not sure. It was a Loooooong time ago.

I love my Kindle Touch. It's becoming an appendage. I haven't had a lot of time for reading recently, but the Kindle is helping me squeeze in some reading time whenever I can. The fact that I can throw it in my coat pocket and take it with me wherever I am is helping me turn a few minutes of downtim...

They smoke a pork shoulder or other hunk of meat and then it's cut up or pulled apart. When prepared on a smaller scale the hand pulled pork is more common. Larger scale servings usually cut it up with knives.

as a quick lesson: Stout : a typical beer style where the malts have been given a darker roast. Chocolate Stout : a stout that's had chocolate flavoring added. In the case of mine it was aged on cocoa nibs. Milk Stout : a stout that's had lactose sugar added. Lactose is a complex sugar and it's unfe...

It's like a multiplayer fast paced solitare. We always played in teams, with either two or three teams playing. It's fun.

I'm bottling my Chocolate Milk Stout today. I decided to be a little adventurous, so I'm putting a gallon into tertiary fermentation and aging it on toasted oak cubes and bourbon.
