The problem is really that there are assholes and idiots everywhere, at every education level and in every party. Things will go wrong no matter who's in charge. I may seem like a pessimist, but I tend to think that I've learned enough about life for this to be simple realism.

I think of the voting as a “privilege” not as a “right”. Maybe that’s where we completely disagree. For me, it’s like driving a car. You have to pass a test in order to get a driving license. That way it is safer for everyone who uses the roads (compared with no test at all). Mmm, but t...

As a matter of record, adults with mental disabilities, even severe ones, still retain the right to vote. Most don't, because they don't understand and their caregivers are too conscientious to use them, but they do have that right.
Ah, my bad. Thanks. That does support my point anyway! :)

Maybe we should make people pass a test about the candidates before voting, too, so we ensure that only informed people vote. /sarcasm Now that is something that I'd really like to see happening! No sarcasm. If the votes of the undecided skew the results, they do so randomly. The votes of the uninf...

I find it a bit silly that when I want to have a glass of wine and I do, I'm breaking the law. I agree that it seems like a bit of a silly story, but it's true that there's very little chance he would be Jewish. Judism, for the most part, has very few converts. No Jew would ever name their child "Christian".

If you did a non-verbal spell, would it be more powerful or less powerful than if you said it verbally? Also, do you think it would be possible to say one spell out loud but do a different spell at the same time non-verbally? I'd imagine the power of a spell doesn't necessarily depend on whether it...
