unfortunately the version you have on those DVDs is the laserdisc transfer, and not the remastered version that was used as source material for the special edition. The quality just isn't quite as good as the remastered version.

I'm probably not the most impartial person to ask about a brewery visit. I've done the tour at one of the local breweries so many times that for a while the tour guides knew me by name. It's a fun way to spend the day, and you usually get samples included in the price of admission. Brewers on the wh...

I'm not sure if that was more entertaining or pathetic.

Your drunk-driving analogy makes no sense.

...the majority of undergrads are entitled and whiny, and profs quite quickly lose any patience for that....

....so you go to University of Awsomeness? :o Went. Almost a decade ago. I'm not sure if they still do the rental system, but It's a huge selling point of the University system here so they'd be hard pressed to get rid of it. It's not like you're not paying for the books. There's a textbook rental ...

On the textbook theme: This is why I'm so glad I went to the University of Wisconsin. Instead of a textbook purchasing system like every other university I know of, they had a rental system. Much like a library, you check out the books you need at the beginning of the year and return them at the end...

I don't know Randy nearly as well as I know Anne. Anne is the "social media" person for the company, so she's the voice. They don't really have a lot to do with the brewery now days, since they hired a brewmaster and a CEO, but it's nice to have an in with someone in the industry.

It's nearly the same equipment as wine. Depending on the size of your batch you need a kettle to boil in, a place to ferment (usually a carboy with an airlock, but there are other fermenters out there). some siphoning tubing, bottles and a capper. If you want to get more advanced, you can get all so...

Relax, Don't Worry, Have a Homebrew

I mentioned homebrewing in the "smells in my kitchen" thread and there was some interest. So, I created this thread to answer questions. I've been homebrewing for 2.5 years now, and it's a great hobby. if you're looking to get into the hobby, I'd say the first resource you want to turn to ...
