Reading List from "Treasure Box"
I don't think this is a spoiler, it's only the first chapter, but if you're sensitive to such, better not read further. The protagonist's sister dies, aged 15, and he then reads her books, over and over: I found the list very interesting, because I had read all but one of them myself, and several, &...

I would like my hands, feet, nose and ears to be able to be uncovered while I'm outside for 10 minutes in 20 degree weather and not freeze. This is rather important, as I have to go outside and bring in firewood for the fire. I really hate having to go upstairs to put on socks, shoes, gloves and a ...

*thumbs down* Deryni Magic by Katherine Kurtz. This is a sort of (fictional, of course) encyclopedia explaining all the stuff about the Deryni people. Their spells, their telepathy, dark magic, shape-changing, healing abilities, etc. If you want to read anything by her, though, you should find Dery...

Wings. Wings (functional) would be _enormous_ physiological and biochemical change. Ones the size pictured on angels wouldn't work, humans are just too dense and heavy. Bird bones are hollow, and even as light as they are, need to take in enormous amounts of energy to fly and stay alive. We'd need ...

I'd do it in a flash! as long as I got to pick which changes. I'm not deformed or anything, but my husband was genetically lean, and immediately transformed calories into either energy or muscle. His daughter picked up that trait, Thank God, along with others like my (and my mother's) nearsightednes...

My understanding was that putting marijuana in brownies or any other recipe involved making marijuana butter and using that in the recipe, not just dropping some of the stuff in the batter and baking it like that ...Interesting... Well, that would probably work, since the active ingredient is fat-s...

Convenience stores: to be more precise, they are seldom pharmacies, and don't sell legal _prescription_ drugs. What they're supposed to sell is things like Aspirin, Tylenol, Over-The-Counter cold medicine (along with their real, basic trade in food, magazines, gasoline, basic automotive supples.) A...

1. It's a convenience store. They're everywhere. They sell legal drugs. 2. No...toxic is POISON. To steal your example, even water can seriously affect your brain. A good amount of it makes you think better. Too much of it causes pain...etc...water is not toxic. As for overdose, you could overdose ...

it's not dominating you if you're one of the people who smoke a lot every day; you're running away from something. Like me, running away from the depression of a failed relationship. I'm high right now, and will be tomorrow at this time, and every day for...a while... Better to use grass for your e...

I am a woman, and I did change my name when I married. When I divorced, I kept my husband's name, because I'd also be keeping our daughter, and I felt there were entirely too many complications in my life already without having a different name from hers. Now she's married, and has yet another name,...

It could kill pain killers. It's quite possible that if they sent a certain message in the media, it wouldn't kill them because people wouldn't believe weed works better than Aspirin. Even so, I think the main reason drug companies are all for keeping it illegal is that they fear it would kill thei...

You can get both. Just like you have to get a marriage license now, you would go down to city hall and get a civil union, then go to the church and get married. Some churches would let you get married without a civil union, some wouldn't, it's up to them. Does that make it clear? That's approximate...

luminousnerd, if I'm of the opinion that you're always wrong, and opinions can't be disproved (according to you), does that mean it's true? No, because it's not an opinon that can't be disproved. Surely you aren't serious! Tylenol, aspirin, many other painkillers, don't make you nonfunctional while they're alleviating pain! Nor does marijuana. It only affects you, does not make you nonfunctional. Some studies have shown (though I won't be linking you to them because I only remember it, and ...

Jota, What you're talking about is transfection. Viruses insert themselves into cells and change the genes.
