Very pretty tree! My mom and I like white lights, and my dad likes colored. Last year they put up the tree when I was still at school, and my dad won. It'll be interesting to see what I find when I come home this Friday. Christmas and I have a strange relationship. My family is what I'll call non-pr...

Despite the fact that I am currently in a library, since I'm stuck at the second-floor desk until closing at midnight, and the books are on the third floor, I reiterate: As for Shakespeare... you know, I read The Taming of the Shrew in high school, and I got a B on the short report I had to write on...

I find I can gather and articulate my thoughts better in writing/typing. Typing basically eliminates speech errors, which I'm (irrationally) insecure about. I like the written me better than the spoken one -- sometimes the latter just sounds stupid, or makes points that she can't follow up. Ugh. As ...

I love all those songs! :D The first one, though, almost made me cry when I listened to it in high school (and I am NOT a crier)... it is 100% applicable to my social history. Wow, someone else who's not only heard of Lifehouse but someone who knows a song that wasn't a radio release. Color me majo...

I'm afraid of bees, which seems rational until you realize that I'm not afraid of bee stings. I've been stung before and it wasn't traumatic. I'm just afraid of the bees themselves . This usually takes a lot of explaining. Umm, potentially stupid question... what are cold telephone calls? I've never...

My mom wanted to name me Sara after one of her old friends, and my dad had no objections, so if you ever wondered my real name, there it is. She didn't want the 'h' because it's not pronounced. (Recently she wondered aloud why the 'h' is there at all, so I explained to her that it was most likely pr...

I imagined Bellatrix looking more like Catherine Zeta Jones in Chicago (sorta like this, with the short, straight, dark hair), but I'm not disappointed... or, at least not in any reasonable way.

I will be in Spain two months from now, so I can tell you what it's like then (Barcelona, at least)! I've been to Cancun, and it's nothing worth going for. Basically a bunch of American teenagers being idiots. Alea's suggestions, however, are much better than Cancun (I've been to Teotihuacan and cli...

Spanish and French won't help you much, since they're not inflected. Yeah, I know, but the vocab helps, and my Pooh knowledge basically gives me the meaning (although sometimes it's fuzzy, no pun intended), so I try to deduce the meaning of inflections from that. Of course, the verbs are easiest, b...

I'm not registered with a party, but I lean to the left... quite a bit. Politics frustrate me a lot because people frustrate me a lot, but since we must have a government, I'd prefer it be dynamic and unafraid of change. The issue I care about most is civil rights, which for me is intristically tied...
