Re: Obligatory Introductory Post

Xenocide was published in 1991.

So although we were around before it was published, we were not around Pweb before it was published.

Just sayin'. :)

Some of us have been around so long, we read Ender's Game and Speaker for the Dead before there was a Shadow series to talk about!

Re: Girly Stuff

I need some sports bra advice. I just started exercising with short spans of jogging. Well, during the premenstrual week, my chest gets really sore. I have always worn cheap hanes sports bras around the house but they definitely do NOT cut it when it comes to jogging. Today I had to hold onto my ch...

Re: New Member

I started out here but spent a number years actively involved in Hatrack before moving on to other things. Haven't posted there in over two years. I check it rarely these days.

Anyway, welcome to Pweb!

What name(s) did you use at Hatrack (if you feel like telling)?

Thanks, steph. It was. Albeit a quite a bit longer than I had planned!

I still have to meet those of the negative con call for an intense weekend meeting this coming weekend. Not looking forward to that AT ALL. :(

I hate super stressful conference calls where it turns into a he-said, she-said situation. :(

I feel drained.

Maybe I should have a good stiff drink before bed. ;)

Every library I've ever used required two things: (1) a photo ID to prove you are who you say you are (if you're a child, you need a birth certificate or social security card and your parent must present a photo ID), and (2) two pieces of machine-printed mail as proof of residency within the city/t...

Read the 5000+ unread items in my Google Reader (well, to be honest, I marked most of Engadget and Gizmodo as read without looking at them since both were well past 1000+).
That sounds like what I do when I have too many unread Google Reader items. Which is often!

Antibiotics contribute to the superbug problem, but I don't think hand sanitizer does. I believe most of them mainly use ethanol, which kills too thoroughly to really be a risk. As for antibacterial soaps, I don't know if they have things added to them that carry that risk, or if that's just a sale...

My kids sometimes make fun of me for sometimes saying "caw-fee" (NYC accent), instead of coffee. And I never even lived in NYC (though I lived on "Lawn Giland" in my elementary school years. :P )

I usually don't say it that way, but sometimes it pops out. ;)

I agree, Jayelle.

And to be perfectly honest, I wouldn't own an iPad if someone hadn't given me one as a gift (or actually, it was given to my husband but he gave it to me to use).

Macs, on the other hand, have been my computer of choice for years.

Forgot to put my engagement ring back on after my shower this morning, and now my hand feels weird and I keep panicking every time I look down and notice it's gone.
I have that reaction when I forget to wear my wedding ring.

Heh. I'm most of the way through Ender's Shadow now. It's interesting to read this from understanding Bean really as a savant.
