Well the aluminum bugs still might have been too heavy to escape. Though knowing Earthbound bugs, some of whom can lift hundreds of times their own weight, the Shakespearean bugs could have been able to get away. (no reference was intended to the SNES rpg, and the capitalization was accidental; I've...

I'd say that Ender was just being sarcastic. When speaking of probability, it would likely be inappropriate to speak of an event in the past in present tense, just because it already happened, so the probability that it happened would be 100%, where as the probability that the event would happen exa...

Right now, I'm at about chapter 20 or so (I don't really want to bother to check) (I'm at the part where Val and Ender get to Ganges) and although I haven't finished it 100%, there are a few thing I'd like to say. First off, I like how OSC takes a (relativity) old story (chapter 15 of Ender's Game, ...

I've finished the first 9 chapters, and so far the book seems better than what others have said. The pacing seemed just fine, other than that, there isn't much else to say. I noticed that EiE seems to be the only Ender novel that doesn't have the chapters named. (except for AWoG, but that likely cou...

(note that I didn't bother to look through the entire thread to see if there had been anything about what I said already) I figure I don't know enough to make an informed decision, but I'd say that we should leave it up to people who know more, but based on what I know, this is very unlikely to happ...

I don't know if anyone has noticed this yet, but I was looking around for any news what so ever concerning the Ender's Game movie, and I found this on Taleswapper.net: Movie Update - November 14, 2008 The Warner Bros. option on Ender's Game expired on November 2nd, 2008. Ender's Game was immediately...

I liked them all as they were, but I'd have to say I like Ender's Game the best because that was what got me into the series in the first place, and I just liked it somehow. As for second favorite, I'd say that it would be either Ender's Shadow or Speaker for the Dead. Xenocide was kind of dragged a...

reading order post EiE: Ender's game Speaker for the Dead Xenocide Children of the Mind Ender's Shadow Shadow Series Ender in Exile. Ender in Exile will spoil the Shadow series for you, although I don't consider that any great loss. I'd think reading them in chronological order would be as big a mi...

I have yet to read the book and I'm likely going to get the book from Barnes and Noble's today. Also, it says on Ender in Exile's Wikipedia page that some of the Intergalactic Medicine Show stories were put in word-for-word into the book. This must mean that all along, OSC was uploading excerpts of ...

OK, since no one else has picked this up, I am going to be a continuity nazi. I picked up the book today and, as is my habit, read the book jacket before diving nose first into the book. I happened across a passage in the synopsis that boggled my mind. To put it into context, I will include the sen...

“The Ender's Saga book covers aren't related whatsoever to the books, so they won't illustrate anything from the story. At least, that's what I seem to remember. Someone will correct me if I'm wrong. “ Indeed it seems as if this statement were somewhat true. The first edition US cover was a pict...

Personally, I'd say that the Speaker Series was overall better. Ender's Game and Speaker for the Dead were, arguably, and in my opinion, likely the best books of the entires Ender Series. The other two Ender Books, Xenocide and Children of the Mind, were, in my opinion, of lesser quality and I didn'...

BTW, who do you think among his toon leaders is... described most by OSC throughout all the books? My candidates would be Hot Soup, Crazy Tom or Vlad. Hot Soup cause he took over China and had that short story, Cheater, Crazy Tom from AWOG, or Vlad because of his aid to russia w/ achilles at the st...
