Re: Dear You 2.0
Also, would it be possible to make it so Pwebbers can post over there using their forum accounts? I don't want to use Facebook or any of the other random options and it seems a bit silly to make us post as "guests" on our sister site. My confidence that I'm able to hack in that support wo...

Mass Effect 3 SPOILERS ahead. All I got out of the ending of Mass Effect 3 is that the catalyst is very, very stupid. Millions of years spent 'saving' organic life, and it couldn't come up with a more elegant solution than, Step 1) Use mind control and robot zombies to terrify and distract organic l...

I finally got around to reading John Green's The Fault in Our Stars over the weekend. I'm considering giving up on reading entirely. I'm fairly certain that experience cannot be topped.

I believe most of the hystia comes from sites like Lifehacker fearmongering to drive new readership, and naive users who just didn't understand that Google uses all that data they give it to tailor their ads.

All right, as long as we're in disagreement, I'll just set it up to randomly open in the same tab, open in a new tab, close your browser, open a random porn site, or repartition your drive.

Anyone else prepping for Mass Effect 3 by playing through the first two?
Coming off of Skyrim, the first Mass Effect felt incredibly short.

On a whim, I applied for a position on the Obama 2012 campaign a few weeks ago. Got an email today saying I made it past the resume/portfolio review portion of the process, and would I please complete a skills assessment to continue the process. I just totally rocked the skills assessment. I'm faili...

Well, considering they would have the option to take flights in stasis, they could have spent eight years planet side between Moctezuma and Trondheim and 1992 years in flight in stasis moving as fast or as slow as they pleased.

Re: Timeline
It's interesting to look at the different speeds at which the characters move through time. Ender and Valentine's flight from Eros to Shakespeare lasts 41 years objectively, two years subjectively. So, they're traveling at an average rate of 20.5 objective years/subjective year. Ender | Eros - Shake...

Re: Timeline
Well, the SftD timeline puts the formation of Starways Congress in 3381 CE. I'm choosing to interpret "400 some odd years" as a generous, "earlier than 2640 CE" as the latest Investment Counciler could have taken place. Which gives us at least a 741 year gap, likely larger. So, e...

Re: Timeline
Derp. Jane says Ender is Objectively 3081 years old when he's called to Lusitania. Adding the years since Starways Congress--1948--to the years since Ender's victory until Starways Congress--1180--plus Ender's age when he was victorious--11--puts him at 3139 years old.

Re: Timeline
I've got the Formic homeworld being destroyed in 2201 CE based on Bean being seven years old at the time. I've based the dates for events SftD on that date + 1180 years to the original founding date of Starways Congress + years since that date. I think those dates should continue to use this math to...
