Re: Wikipedia Searches I Have Performed

I just introduced Best Friend to TVTropes. Her response:
I hope imps from Hell escape and torment your soul.
This is just one day after I sent her a Pinterest invite. I'm lucky she loves me.

Re: ESP(Web)N

Yay, it's Brain! Speaking of college football... how do we feel about the bowl matchups? As an SEC girl, I can't help but be happy that we're going to be getting the title this year... but it also seems really boring. It also has the potential to really stir things up. If LSU loses the BCS, then the...

It's really the wet, smacking noises that nauseate me. But now that you've put the Kit-Kat commercial on my radar, that'll probably set me off too.

Thanks. :grumble:

I'm re-reading Songmaster, but I'm also in the middle of Jane McGonigal's Reality is Broken as well as some book I downloaded from Kindle for $.99 called Containment, by Christian Cantrell.

It's very rare that I just read one book at a time.

Re: Songs That Are Stuck In My Head

I'm Not Gonna Call You, by The Films. It's a ballad about a guy who likes showing up at a girl's house for "quality time" but doesn't respect her enough to call her. I find it wryly amusing, since I dated "that guy." But I'm not gonna call you/ I'm not gonna write/ But I'll show ...

Well damn, I'm late to the bandwagon on this one.

Short resume: I write well, I research well, I edit very well, and I was rather good at public speaking back in the day. I'll do any writing, editing, researching or podcast-recording you guys need.

Guilty Pleasure: Eating Frank's Red Hot Wing Sauce straight out of a spoon. I call it "soup."

Irrational Irritation: Mouth noises. People on TV kissing or chewing loudly... ugh. I have to mute the TV. I think it has to do something with the lips...

Anyone a college football fan around here? I would check the past 17 pages, but that's a lot of work. I'm an SEC girl, Florida Gators all the way. Otherwise, it's Redskins football (ouch) and Capitals hockey. I'm also required to cheer for the Canucks, per my relationship agreement with Boyfriend.

Re: Brains or Beauty?

As a very smart person who recently gained 30 pounds and then lost 20, trust me when I say looks matter. My bosses are taking me more seriously, more people are willing to ask me to dance at swing dances, and my friends don't feel so self-conscious around me. I'm sure most of it is the change in my ...

Luet, I HATE mice. I had an infestation last winter... killed at least 15 of them in my studio apartment. I almost had to move. They freak me out so much, and they smell SO bad when they die in inconvenient places.

That being said, I like it here. So stop worrying that I'm leaving. I'm just supplementing my life, financially and intellect...

Honestly, it wasn't particularly good. I understand that it's Sci-Fi and the future and whatnot, but the "battle" scenes with robots and whatnot were a little farfetched when juxtaposed against the rest of the story, and the character development was lacking. I'm inclined to agree with loc...

I think that, at least in Christianity, to be trapped in a childlike- or less-than-childlike consciousness automatically means that you're an innocent. (Not taking into account original sin, if you believe in it.) On the other hand, there are so many different facets of Christianity that you can't r...

I've gotten some strange taste in books lately, but here were a couple I liked: Emergency Sex and Other Desperate Measures --Great non-fiction about three UN peacekeepers in war zones in the 90's. If it bothers you too much to read his more LDS-heavy writings, try just thinking of it as yet another story rather than a doctrine. Then again, I'm an atheist, so it isn't hard for me to suspend my disbelief.

The Genesis stories are rather good, though.
