Re: Politics...discuss

Matt Welch pretty much summed it up: After four years of a crappy economy, bipartisan dissatisfaction with bailout economics, and populous revolts on the right and the left, we are seeing basically the exact same government we had on November 6th. The status quo, which has never been less popular, h...

Re: Wedding Planning!

Hey, married people. As the holidays are coming around, or have already started to come around, I was wondering if any of you started new traditions after you got married; things that you did with your own immediate families that you wanted to continue in your "new" married life or things...

Let me tell you how it will be: there's one for you, nineteen for me. 'Cause I'm the taxman. Yeah, I'm the taxman.

Should five percent appear too small, be thankful I don't take it all. 'Cause I'm the taxman. Yeah, I'm the taxman

Commando pajamas, for sure. Unless there are guests.
Even if there are guests... Especially if there are guests.

Boxer briefs. In high school/college, I used to alternate between boxers during the off-season and boxer briefs during the season. Eventually I just stuck with the boxer briefs year-round.

Unless it's pajamas time. In which case: commando.

I don't see these movies not sucking. This is the reaction I'm hearing from most of my friends. It's not really a matter of whether they're "biased." They're just wrong . (When they're not trying to spin their opinions as facts, that is.) Who's fact-checking the fact checkers? They're little better than the campaigns themselves. Indeed, they often use the very same language of the ca...

I have this thing where I believe everyone is the same age as I am.
This happens to me all the time, though sometimes it goes the other way and I forgot how old I am.

I think it would be a much more informative practice for the news channels to go through the political programs of the parties, comparing and fact-checking each point. I have absolutely no faith in "fact checkers" in the media. Example: treatment of the Lily Ledbetter case. Here's how Pol...

Anyone who's met a Chicago politician!

Seriously, though: the city has a pretty strong wind (though it's much calmer in the summer months). Like Alea said, that probably has a lot to do with the urban wind tunnels (and the fact that most of the major roads seem to run east-west).

It's really hard to take Obama seriously talking about Iraq when he negotiated for us to stay longer and got kicked out by the Iraqi government.
