I apparently went to college with my first crush, and had no idea.

First grade was a long time ago, it seems.

Re: Random things that remind you of PWEB or people here

The book I finished yesterday had a character who was an eccentric older gentleman. For whatever reason, I thought of buckshot. I don't think they're too similar (character owned a Christmas tree farm and had a pet possum) but still, it was pretty great. Poor buckshot. He's probably such a caricatu...

So, last year a company named Double Fine started a Kickstarter fund with the goal of raising $400,000 to develop a new game. Much to their and everyone else's amazement, it managed to gather over $3 million from almost 90,000 people in a month. This is the first teaser trailer of the upcoming game...

Re: Currently Reading / Just Read (Books/stories/whatever)

Finished rereading Watchmen for the dozenth time. I can't believe that there are still little dumb things I've missed, references or interesting transitions or tiny scraps of information. Or maybe I've just read it enough that I've forgotten what I know. Which is, really, awesome, because that means...

I just want you all to know that once this movie is out I am out of here. Fft, zip, zoom, out. Why would I stick around? Yuck. In honesty, I have almost completely separated the actual film from this place. It occurs as an interest that we all share, but we all tend to like Sherlock and Doctor Who a...

there's some seriously sexist s*** going on in this thread right now. I'm disappointed in you, pweb. Is... there? I know I'm, like, three years behind, but I've finally finished Lost ! And I liked the ending. It seemed pretty in-line with the entire rest of the series. No problems with it. An enjoyable six seasons, if you did your best to not actually wonder what "the Island" was about and just care a...

Seriously, I just did this, so unless I'm missing something it should work smooth as butter. If you're coding it in HTML, you should be able to say "Download As..." then select "Text document (.txt)". Once it's downloaded to your computer, right-click on the file, click "Ren...

Oh, so are you "building" the website as in laying out the format in a document? I'm sorry, I thought you were doing the actual HTML coding in a shared doc, since you specifically talked about a notepad application. Which I apparently cannot find. So, uh, Google may be your friend, in this...

I have never built a website using Google Docs, but just from experimentation, if you download it and then manually rename it to end in ".html" it should open as an HTML document.

I dreamt last night that, in a pique of annoyance, I temporarily shut Jane's earpiece thing off. It's a moment from Speaker that has always stuck with me, in some fearful way. The pain of it. Anyway, in the dream I then was transported to Ansible-land and was there to experience her freak-out. The d...

Making funny faces at small children in public. Preferably without their parents noticing.

Even though I have good days with it, I strongly strongly hate the IL style of storytime, at least as practiced in my library. Let me do it AZ style and both the kids and I will be sooo much happier!
