(I work in a corner of a square - I at least have a full wall on one side of my desk, which I have lots of photos on. Some folk only have cubicle partitions. My view is a grey courtyard with a grey back wall.)

I think you should report it... especially so given that those who did the prank are in positions of some responsibility (and getting paid for it). If they weren't people you knew, or weren't people you were friends with, I think you'd be finding the decision less difficult (not sure, but probably)....
