I've got 190 pushups (total) to look forward to in tonight's circuits. Blech. I don't want to do this workout.

For those wondering what I'm talking about, this is one of the places we took Alea (really we took Adam, as Renee and Alea basically opted out of eating cream puffs). http://exilekiss.blogspot.com/2010/03/silky-light-and-airy-cream-puff-choux.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return fa...

as stated in the other thread, we got our marriage license today, it's officially down to one month away! Ahhh! In sadder news, one of my groomsman, a best friend from growing up in Missouri, isn't going to be able to make it. His factory closed last month, so he was laid off from that job, but was ...

Now, I started Big Bang Theory. Hooked. Which season did you start with? The first. Now on Season 2. Love. It. One of our favorite shows and it gets better each season. Just watched the season 5 finale. It was really awesome. "Boldly go..." Best two shows on TV are Game of Thrones and Mod...

We have 5 bookshelves in the spare room. One in the bedroom. One in the living room and one in the breakfast nook. very triumphant, imo.
(caveat, some of them are really dvd shelves)

Thank you for your advice, Tiny Genius. I totally need to be better at just telling him I love him. I do it a lot, but there is no "too much" on this topic. What my real fear comes down to is this: Tyler is an INCREDIBLY bright child. He wants to be a scientist when he grows up. He doesn'...

I'm down roughly ten lbs from January. I haven't been very good on food feb-now exercise has been sporadic. I'm in the last week of a six week 100 etc challenge, so I've got two of those workouts to finish, then it's into a heavy lifting rotation, I think. Congrats on all your success, Kelly. Very I...

Re: Reading and Re-reading: Impressions along the way
One of my problems with Ender's Game/Ender's Shadow today is the whole idea of emotional savants. Child Genius is well known but it tends to occur in areas that are removed from emotion, mathematics, playing musical instruments, chess, for example, which are also the most common ways child genius ma...

The rule is after a reread you have to make a poster or write a trailer.
at least that's how I think it used to go, 10 years ago.

Triple Movie Day! TinTin 9 of 10 (may go down slightly) The film is tremendous fun, it is incredibly visually inventive with just ingeniously designed set pieces. However it feels almost too designed, the mocap process gives Spielberg incredible tools but it also seems to take away some of the spont...

Re: Currently Reading / Just Read (Books/stories/whatever)
Just reread Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell . It was good, again, especially towards the end. However, I feel really let down by the ending every time I read it. I mean, there's this build-up of desperation in Strange about saving his wife -- he goes to such great lengths to do it -- and then when...

We spent a lot of time with my nieces and other small kiddo second cousins over the recent holidays, also spent a lot of time talking to my three-four year younger cousins, who got married about when we started dating, and in any event, while we had a lot of fun with the kids, wow, my cousin's wife ...

Re: Your Favourite TV That No One's Ever Seen
For me, the recent Express Christmas episode of Modern Family has elevated the show past Pushing Daisies into the top two shows of all time... It is possible, with two and a half seasons, the show is now the best ever, succeeding Firefly in my book. Never has a TV show made me laugh as hard or feel ...

I hope they can get Mortensen as Graff he's such a phenomenal actor (steals every scene often without saying much at all in Dangerous Method), Chris Cooper would be another stellar option. Not crazy about the idea of Ford as Graff.

On another note, we just watched a British series called Survivors on Netflix streaming. It's only 2 seasons of six episodes each. It reminded me of The Walking Dead but without the zombies, which sounds boring but isn't! A virus wipes out 99% if the population and it's about the survivors. It's re...

I finished Wheat Belly. Davis is an irritating writer in print and for the most part seems far too committed to elisions, selection/confirmation bias in order to pin the blame on wheat. Starches and sugars have a lot to blame them on, but I don't think hybrid wheat introduced in the sixties is reall...
