I have a hard time with lists of New Year's Resolutions. Mostly because I love setting goals. I am a goal setter from WAY back, and sometimes I even manage to keep some of them. I never know how to structure these things, however. Prevailing wisdom suggests that they should be details and organized ...

I'm sure this is not the most exciting answer, but you could consider simply NOT spending the money in favor of saving it for a time when you actually need something, or at least when you discover something you really want.

Good God. Kids these days.

When I got promoted, my splurge item was to replace my 1998 dodge Avenger with a brand new Infiniti G37s. And yes, I spend money on it. A lot. Stupid, but there it is.

If my recommendation means anything to you at all (already I'm flattering myself, but that doesn't mean I'm wrong) you should go read this excerpt from the first chapter of BLACK SWAN GREEN by David Mitchell. And then when that excerpt BLOWS YOUR MIND you should go read the whole book and let it ch...

In case anyone is interested, our very own Ami Chopine has a story in the latest issue of IGMS (issue #10) entitled, "The Tile Setters." Go check it out; it is good stuff, seriously.

Has anyone seen this yet? It's bad. Oh God, is it bad. It is so bad, the word bad is insufficient. Let's set aside for a second that it has NOTHING to do with the book(s). Nothing. Well, okay, they use some of the same character names -- but they're different characters. And the plot has all but van...

Actually, there is a valid concern about a potential President's religious viewpoint. By declaring your belief in a religion, you are making a broad spectrum statement (even if it is only implied and not entirely true) of your own moral and ethical code. There are people who may have serious doubts ...

At any rate... I've voted. Don't you think that should earn me the right to not hear any more election commercials?
