Sorry, I didn't in fact look at them so I don't feel confident saying it was or wasn't obvious that they weren't bombs. Did you catch a look at one? Regardless, it seems foolish at best, malicious at worst. Also, what you might call a "stupid" reaction, someone else might simply call "...

eriador, Mostly because I've never really bought into the whole chaos = expression bullshit. Let's face it -- these were bomb threats. Tome, It's a very short novel, most likely considered unmarketable by major publishers (yeah, some short books come out, but even OSC doesn't have those kinds of numbers). Therefore, one big way you can sell an otherwise unmarketable product is to go to a small-press publisher which, by definition, ...

But know what's close?

Having to pack up and move your apartment on short notice.

You can attempt to rationalize based on modern science all you want, but the fact is, light had to come first, then stars, then the sun, then our Earth (as we know it to be). The sun couldn't exist before it put out light, because the definition of our sun being a star is based on thermonuclear fusi...

I certainly think there are arguments to be made on either side. But, even if you accept a sigmoidal approximation of technological advancement, there is no guarantee we're on the steepest portion of that right now. Some of the problem comes from trying to model this growth. How do you define techno...

I find this thread to be fascinating. As one would expect for a relatively random sample, we have a fairly even distribution of votes amongst options.

Avg = 3.7
Med = 3
StDev = 1.4 (a small spread)
