Re: Confessions of a 20-something mother

Whenever I watch something Whedon, within 24 hours I find myself singing the Fruity-Oaty bar song.
Damn you. Now I'll be singing that all day.

I also wish I had a cool Star Wars library. That is amazing.

um so.. what to do when you love someone and he 1)kisses another girl WHO IS HIS 3rd COUSIN, but I stay with him, then he proceeds to act like I don't exist any time she's around, and goes to her house for hours, you know, because they are cousins. Help? I'm not going to let him go so don't suggest...

Re: Doctor Who (yarr, there be spoilers here!)

So... that's it, eh? Honestly, I think that Rory and Amy leaving would have had an emotional impact if it weren't for spoilers. I hate that it was everywhere online that this was their last episode. It made me not care nearly as much when they left. It was sad and all, but... I don't know. I was lef...

Honey Crisps are priced at $1.99/lb this week. (That's way more than I like to pay for apples!)
I weep for the fact that I the cheapest apples I can find are at least $2/lb. Produce is so effing expensive here.

So Bob, it's been awhile. I call this post: Friendships and the Stupidity of Facebook My friends left. The closest friends I've had since we moved here moved away in August. It was sad and it was hard, but it finally gave me the confidence to actually make some friends on my own. It dawned on me (be...

So, with all of that being said, the Les Mis movie will be amazing. Need proof? Check this out: It's AMAZING that they did all the singing on set. I don't think that has ever been done before in a movie-musical. It makes me ten times more excited - the emotion of the singing will be like nothing we...

Something I really want to be in this series, CAPTAIN JACK'S REAPPEARANCE.
It seems really unlikely that Captain Jack will be back, since he was a companion of ten, not eleven. Before ten regenerated, he said good-bye to all those companions and I think it was pretty final.

I usually make the Lightning Cake from the Joy of Cooking (I found an online version here ) - just without adding the nuts and stuff on top. Works out well. As for icing in rosettes - as long as you have the right tip and an icing bag, it's not too tricky, just takes practice. All my icing has in it...

Re: Things that I love

Call me crazy, but I actually find this XKCD: What If? fairly romantic. I don't believe in soulmates, but in finding a mate that you fall in love with and make things work with. Someone who feels like a soulmate. So the idea that there couldn't be soulmates, mathmatically speaking, makes long term r...

I think I maybe went to the bank without pants today. Not naked or anything! No, no. Just, by the chart Jan posted that time, I'm not sure they qualified as pants. Furthermore, they were MATERNITY non-pants, with the waistband pulled tight by a hairband sticking out oh-so-attractively to one side. ...

You know what I love, you guys? Coffee. Coffee with cream in the morning. It's mostly about the flavour, it's partly about the ritual. Not really. It's not as bad as Hurricane Igor was 2 years ago. We had our power go out for a couple of hours, but nothing else. I've seen pictures from around the island of roofs blown off houses, things tipped over and some trees ripped up, but not any really major damage.

So, umm. We're probably getting hit with a hurricane next week. I'm not too worried for myself - we didn't even lose power (like over half the city) with hurricane Igor 2 years ago. But I am worried about the province as a whole. Hurricane Igor did a ton of damage and it would be really bad if those...
