Re: Those Things That Make You You

I would move. And I would not take it personally if a stranger sitting next to me decided to move.

People have no way of knowing why you are moving and therefore no reason to feel offended.

Unless the theatre is packed, there is no real reason to sit check to jowl with a stranger.

Re: The New News Thread

Apparently, Westboro Baptist Church (the "God hates Fags" people) already tweeted that they were, essentially, happy that Steve Jobs had died. They tweeted this message from an iPhone.

I wish I was kidding.
Why on earth? What has he ever done that offended them so badly? :?

Feeling sad about it. :(

I read the news on my iPad. Typing this response on my MacBook Pro. First computer was a Mac SE. So I'm a Mac geek from way back. ;)

The bed is cleaner if I get in it after a shower than if I get into it without showering.

That is all.

I always pronounced Mich as 'Mitch'. I'm in the middle of listening to Noodle's interview but I had to share this: http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6163/6185001991_b08ea71d0c.jpg I haven't worn it much because it never fit well but I've kept it for nostalgic reasons. :) I still have that shirt, but I...

Well, I don't really agree that sleep paralysis is at all related to proprioception. Sleep paralysis is just literal muscle paralysis - a complete loss of body muscle tone that always happens during normal REM sleep (except for eye muscles, of course). Re: How do you survive where you live?

The thing about dry heat is you can get dehydrated very rapidly without realizing it cause you don't sweat as much. I don't care what people say about dry heat, I'd rather have humidity. I still remember getting off the airplane when I went to Salt Lake City in July and feeling like I had walked int...

Re: Night Time is the Right Time (Or, when do you shower?)

On topic, I shower at night now. I used to shower in the morning, but now I like to wash off the hospital smell before I sleep.
Well, yeah, working in a hospital is another reason I got in the habit of showering at night. More because I didn't want to bring home hospital germs to my kids.

Re: Night Time is the Right Time (Or, when do you shower?)

I like to shower at night and get into bed clean, also. But some days, if I haven't done much during the day, I'll shower in the morning or at other times of the day. I used to shower in the morning, but got in the habit of night showers when I lived overseas and there was only hot water and heat at...

I add it before, but don't add it until late. It freezes while still half-cooked, and cooks the rest of the way while reheating.
And it doesn't come out with that frozen/defrosted texture that fully cooked rice gets after you freeze and defrost it?

Gotcha.

I believe an episode of Radio Lab had a bit about the guy who lost his sense of proprioception. In general, I find Radio Lab pretty interesting. You can check it out here:

A handful of times in my life I have woken up and found myself not able to move for a very brief period of time.
I have also had this happen to me a handful of times in my life. I thought it was called sleep paralysis.
Yes, it is.

I fall in the Light on Dark crowd. I'm not sure why, but it seems that more "techie" people prefer light on dark than non techies.

Maybe it's something to do with our :evencooler: geeky nature.
Do you have scientific backup for that statement? I question its accuracy. ;)
