Actually, It will end. He was diagnosed several years ago, so he outlined the entire 12th (and final) book, and his wife will finish it for him. It won't be the same, but we will get to find out what Jordan had planned for his characters.

Another sad day for lovers of fantasy

http://www.uksfbooknews.net/2007/09/17/rip-wheel-of-time-author-robert-jordan/print/ Robert Jordan, author of the Wheel of Time series, passed away yesterday afternoon. He had been struggling for the past few years with a rare form of cancer. I loved his books (even if they were incredibly long, and...

Dear Bob, Why am I living with this guy? How can someone be such a huge douchebag? This is from a conversation earlier tonight, with him, my other housemate, and another male friend. This is as close as I can remember to what he actually said, using as little paraphrase as possible. (in a proud voic...

Dear You,

Please try not to stress out too much. This sucks, but it's not your fault, and no one there feels any resentment towards you.

Your friend.

Dear You,

Why do I always fall for the crazy ones?!

It's now 6:40 in the morning... I've been up since noon. Crazy as it may seem, this is actually entirely voluntary. At 9 this morning, clubs can reserve rooms to use during the year, on a first come first serve basis, so we (we being the Anime club) camped out. We had someone here at 7:40am yesterda...

I haven't read her stuff in years... actually never, cause I had "A Wrinkle in Time" read to me by my mom when I was very young. Some of the best memories of my life are from the car trips when my mom would read those books, or others (such as the Narnia series). It's in large part because...

I actually really like the commercials in general. Obviously, some of there are better than others, but the whole concept is really funny... but like I said in my first post, I wish they had the original actors. They can just pull it off better than the guys in those previews.

I think I read a little faster than average, and I learned to read at a fairly young age. I don't know what kind of method my parents used, but I definitely do the whole "read several words at a time" thing. As far as forcing yourself to read faster goes, I had a teacher in high school who...

I'm going to add a couple to my previous list of how to annoy a linguist:

5. Claim that animals communicate, therefore animals have language.

6. Trying to assert that a word means something based on its etymology. Words mean whatever we use them to mean, people!
