Re: "Turn him loose as a theorist..."
Bonus: "God does not operate under the rules of logic and rationality--He is beyond them." Never, under any circumstances, attempt to explain just what the hell any of that means, because it really doesn't mean anything (that's the beauty of it). I can't actually explain what this means, ...

Re: "Turn him loose as a theorist..."
Wow. So many words. So little understanding. It's not satirical. I think it is a valid argument 1. You said you were not being satirical. You were presenting a valid argument. But when I actually responded, then you say you are not serious ("Bolded underlined portion clearly implies a lack of ...

Re: The Race Relations/Diversity/Equality Thread
Hmm I was wondering if there'd be some talk about this on Pweb. I didn't realize that Chic-fil-A was only a regional, southern franchise. It's surprising to hear about people who haven't heard about it... when I ate it almost every day my last school year. Lol. I'm not entirely sure if I'm gonna boy...

Re: "Turn him loose as a theorist..."
1. It's not satirical. I think it is a valid argument ...my opinion is that the difference between the two types of rational beings simply...doesn't matter. In fact, that's the cleverness of it. I've already recognized that the two are not the same 2. If the difference doesn't matter, then you can ...

Re: "Turn him loose as a theorist..."
Cezen, In simple terms, then: The "Structure" of that proof is not clever. It is foolish. It needs to establish a false equivalency (something that I am growing tired of in both philosophy AND politics) in order to pick up any steam. If you FIND the false equivalency early on (as I have d...

Cezen, 1. You're all over the place with this. You post it, then poke fun at it, then say, "No, but seriously...," then you claim it again...which is it? And you say things like, "At what point did I claim equivalence for those two entirely separate concepts? The actual point of the ...

Re: "Turn him loose as a theorist..."
Cezen, your "proof" is horribly structured. You claim full equivalence for two entirely separate concepts: existence as a living being in the real world, and "existence" as a character in a piece of fiction. If you have to rely on that deceitful conceit in order to make your poi...

I'm relatively nonpartisan on the issue of gun control. Despite living in Texas, I've probably only shot a rifle/gun once when I was like 13 at a summer camp. Unless you want to count paintball... But, I ran across this Cracked.com article, and the last point... http://www.cracked.com/blog/the-4-mos...

Hey, I just thought of something. The supposed apocalypse on December 21 this year (GMT?) might just be the moment of read-out, the end of the Magrathean computer program to find the Ultimate Question. Once the program ends and the Question is found, the Earth would... I'm not sure. I know that bec...

Today I'm thankful for Meebo Chat. The service I used for AIM. After not using it for almost a year. And using i...

Re: TV in General - Rants, Reviews, Etc.
So, the season finale of the River was awesome! The whole show was great; it was like a shorter, sweeter, better version of Lost if Lost was from the angle of different people holding cameras. Not sure, maybe I think it was better because it was shorter. Seriously, if you made Lost about a river ins...

Should I read and/or watch Battle Royale? I almost borrowed the DVD from work but wasn't sure I was in the mood and passed on it. I haven't read it... well, not much of it. But I've seen it. It's definitely worth the watch. EDIT: Might be hard to follow though since you don't get the full backstory...

I finally saw the season finale of Game of Thrones. What can I say? Epic. Some feelings of inevitable doom at the very end. Minor Spoilers: The magic of the Warlocks was really unnerving. From here on out, my name is pronounced Say Zahn. So it was written, so it shall be done.

I've found that most 1L professors are like that, but most upper-level professors aren't. Getting free cookies at subway. I jokingly pointed out to the cashier that the cookie I wanted looked broken. "So, can I get it for free", I asked.
"No!"
Then she gives them to me, on the house... I was just joking.
Made my day.
