One thing I don't understand... people talk about how you must love God. I'm sorry, but I can't choose who I love. As I understand it, that's not how love works. Love- be it for a family member, a signifigant other, or a diety- is not a consious choice. It's more of a subconcious, deeper bond. It s...

I did not forget it, which is why I refrained from stating that you will absolutely find what you were looking for. In response to that, I would say one of several thing is likely happening: You were not actually looking for God. You were looking for God, but He didn't fit the definition you expecte...

I do believe we can give words more power for different tasks, though. That is part of why context is so important. A word in one context has a completely different meaning from the same word in a different context sometimes. That said, one word, or rather phrase, that I find atrocious is "damn...

Yes, but see, for me “God” is just a concept that humans invented. And the fact that this concept is not consistent (i.e. it has many contradictory characteristics) is a sign of imperfect humans. And the fact that God doesn’t make any effort to “set things clear” for those that are in dou...

I have to run out the door to get to a study group (yay syntax!), but in answer to the definition of perfection, perfection is, in this case, without sin. So anything that is made pure in that way is, by definition, perfect. This does not mean Adam and Eve could do maths perfectly or any other skill...

An on-the-original-topic reply, if only because this discussion on credibility could go on forever at this current rate: You made a comment in the first post about God creating imperfect (why, oh why, do I want to tack on "used to" in front of this?) humans. I think that perspective needs ...

I'm just about to go to bed, but in answer to the first one, I've generally understood glorifying God to telling Him you love Him, along with recalling His power and all that He has done for us, which also demonstrates His love for us. But in essence, it comes down to telling Him you love Him, and a...

If the box is airtight, you can estimate how long it will take for the cat to run out of oxygen, and if you want to be certain (and the box is not too large), you can come back in three days and be fairly certain it will be dead. If the box is not airtight, eventua...

Elena,

That was basically what I was getting at. If something is still named as a theory, there is generally a reason for it and it would be fitting to address why it is still considered as such.
