I have recently re-discovered the Wikipedia article on Impossible Objects, and am now obsessed with learning how to draw a Blivet. Which, in itself, is an impossibility for me, since I was (quite formally) born with 2 left hands.

Today, when a teacher of ours wanted to point out an example for cooperation, helping each other and forging team spirit, he picked out a quote I said to him (of course, without mentioning I said it). That was a joyous moment. =)

"Probably". I would guess that something like that would work, but I've never used such a device... and it would seem like the only way you have to test this is to buy an NTSC game, which would be a rather annoying way to find out it doesn't work. If you're willing to risk the cost, then ...

So basically, if I buy a NTSC to PAL converter and use it to connect my PS3 to my TV, I can play whatever I want - both NTSC and PAL games? (I don't know if I have 720p; I believe I don't, mainly because it's more expensive.)

The kracken ate Jack Sparrow, making him not cool.
On the contrary. The Kraken ate Jack Sparrow (I insist: CAPTAIN Jack Sparrow!), which makes him extra cool.

I mean, managing to eat a cool person like that makes you get some of his coolness. Ain't that right?

Just finished reading The Road, by Cormac McCarthy. An amazing book, though there's little to no catharsis; which some may find fitting with the (post-apocalyptic) theme, but I found a bit harsh. (I like happy endings)

If an all-round chip is applied, that forbids us from doing bad, then yes, to some degree- we'd have Asimov's First Law (swap 'human' for 'half-robot') installed. But considering we'll all be 'robots', is that so bad?

Let me preface this by saying that my visits to the religion forum are sporadic, so for all I know this has been discussed to death and I just missed it. If so, go on about your business, nothing to see here. I can't pick better words for it. Now, to the issue. Consider the following scenario: Hero...
