Who knows the answer to your question. It's all hypothetical. The Bible starts out with: "In the beginning God created the Heavens and the Earth."-Genesis 1:1 Now, that doesn't really tell us anything, but when you go to verse two you find: "Now the earth was formless and empty, darkn...

Those quotes aren't what Jesus or Paul said. Jesus said "this is my body." Paul said "this is my body." You can argue that what they meant was "means," but that is not what they said. I hate it when people mess around with translations to this extreme - keep the interp...

I do most of my research from the internet when it comes down to Bible verses to prove my point. I haven't used the Watchtower Society once in t...

Actually, Anthony, you're wrong. Easter is not Christian. Jesus Christ commanded us to remember his death because that had the true meaning, not his birth or resurrection-those did nothing for us as humankind. "As they continued eating, Jesus took a loaf and, after saying a blessing, he broke i...

1. You only have five scriptures even relevant to what the Hebrew people believed. The latter half is New Testament work. Odd, isn't it, when there's a multitude of scriptures that suggest more than one. Of course, you'll just disregard that little fact, because, hey, you've already made up your mi...

The Jews believed in One True God and all other gods were false. Just because the Bible talks about other gods does not mean they are real. What about these? "And there you will have to serve gods, the product of the hands of man, wood and stone, which cannot see or hear or eat or smell."-...

A.
Sorry. I couldn't remember if it was minutes or days or years. Thanks.

Then that would make the earth only about 6,000 years old, Jota. And it's proven that the earth is millions of years old. And what about the light from the sun taking eight years to reach the earth? It doesn't fit. If the luminaries came into the sky on the fourth day then the light would still have...

It's literal. If it was poetry it would be with the poetry books: Job, Psalms, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, Song of Solomon. We could add another book, I guess. Job, Psalms, Proverbs, Genesis 1-3, Ecclesiastes, Song of Solomon. And the books of the Law could be Genesis 4-Deuteronomy. Again, it's literal.

So if when I die I pay off my wages anyways, wouldn't it make sense for me, or at least for someone who knows they're going to die before Armageddeon, to run out and commit all kinds of sins and live a life of total debauchery, knowing that they'll die and it'll all be OK? My problem with the Jehovah's witness concept of the afterlife is this: when someone dies, everything-soul and body- dies. There is nothing left. According to your beliefs, God will ressurect the just. But if you think about it, it wouldn't be you . the ressurected being would look like you, act li...

Eriador, it's not Scripture contradicting Scripture. It's interpretation contradicting interpretation. For example: I say, "The Bible says that when we die we are just dead. The soul does not live on after death. Ezekiel 18:4 says, 'The soul that sins is the one who will die.' You see? The Bibl...

Slim, the reason this happens is because E_L is arrogant. Other people take a Scripture here and Scripture there to try to make the big picture and people follow them. Once I do it E_L is all over me saying I've made something that resembles a Gordian Knot. All I'm doing is saying what I believe and...

From the first paragraph of this website, it seems that the Jews do not really know what they believe on the matter. Traditional Judaism firmly believes that death is not the end of human existence. However, because Judaism is primarily focused on life here and now rather than on the afterlife, Juda...
