Nice thread idea... Dear you, I have no idea how you may really feel, but I love you. ~!~ Dear you(s), I know you don't care, you never did, and that's fine with me. I'll be gone soon enough; eight years isn't as long as you may think. I'll see you all one day in the next world, and we'll discuss wh...

It happened in the book it can happen in real life.. Finally, I'm glad someone besides me is saying that, though that's different from what you were saying earlier. Nonetheless, thank you. Now, hypothetically speaking, what do you think the nations of the world (today) would do if we actually had a...

Very good, I'm glad we're getting somewhere. ^__^ Now, let's expand on the crayon idea and try to come up with something that the UN officials will actually accept. Something like the crayons, yet something that will not make them look like five-year-olds. Personally though, I really like that idea....

Those are exactly the reason's why I want people to talk. No one person has all the right ideas/methods to solve all of the worlds problems. I mainly want to encourage talk about this. I'm not saying that I'm completely right, but I'd like more and more people to start to talk about this. If not abo...

Hmm, first time I've heard that. Very nice. You may right in saying that not everyone thinks a world government is a good idea, but everyone wants unity (maybe not world unity , but unity), so the idea is there. If they can see that world unity can work, they will agree on it. And in order for it to...

The comments posted above prove that the way think about peace is very different from way we should think about peace. All of you seem to suggest that society can't achieve peace, and that it's like a far off world, running farther away the more we try to reach it. The only way we can make world uni...

[YES IT'S LONG, BUT WORTH THE READ. PLEASE TRY TO UNDERSTAND WHAT I'M SAYING, IT'S NECESSARY] I think I’m right to believe that the majority of everyone on this forum knows what the FPE is and what it stands for/represents. The FPE is the name of the campaign that Peter Wiggin uses to unite the w...

Isn't the only reason why dead bodies weigh less than when they were alive is because the bodies start to whither away and decompose. Of course, that would be after a considerable amount of time, so then: attribute any loss of mass at death to something mundane like gases escaping. I'd have to agree...

Why? What evidence do you have? I'm not being sarcastic, I really want to know. Why? I cant say I have any solid evidence that I believe in. And, it's not as though I believe in it completely...I mean, the science nerd part in me is against believing it, so I guess it's more so I want to believe in...

Plus, not knowing how much pain you are going to be in before you die is a big clincher. If I get stabbed in the abdomen, how much pain will I feel until I die? I never thought about it that way before, but that does make sense; the amount of pain a person would feel during the time between getting...

What is death?
So, I've been pondering about this for a while.........well it popped up in my head every once in a while over the past year or so... What is "death" ? Literature often personifies it and portrays it as the grim reaper. But that's usually in classical fiction. We've been taught, since we w...

I've heard from random people in my life that the only reason why people are buying Hybrid cars is because of the high gas prices (which are thankfully returning to 'normal'). Meaning that since the gas prices are indeed decreasing again, people will stop buying Hybrid cars. What do you think? In a ...

I'm pretty sure your question is a result of reading the first page of this thread and Jeebsy's post in particular. Yes, I was reading off that post in particular, but I didn't mean any offense by what I said; I guess I was just confused. I agree with you as well on what type of character Petra sho...

Has anyone considered the fact that if they choose to make Petra more feministic, that'll completely ruin her role? I mean, have a look at Hermione from Harry Potter....I have nothing against her character, or the actress herself, but as the movies have progressed, the only role she acts out is of a...

But....
I very much agree with you; that would be great for Ender's Game. Usually, when books are being made into movies, they have to condense everything and that leaves out so many important parts (Eragon, for example).... However, since it's a new concept, it'll likely be very expensive, right? I'm not s...
