There would be a lot more in CS/IT, but most of us use it so often that we'd never get anything done if we laughed every time.

I just ran through setting up a kerberized ldap nss server. It's the first sysadmin-y thing I've done in a few months (well, besides the day to day stuff on the notebook). It feels good to know I can still do that kind of thing.

Dear Bob, Have I just given my life away again? I don't know why I always seek out admin stuff, I know it takes away all my time and can make me stressed and busy. Maybe it's just searching for an identity, or something. I suppose it's all I really know. (The people are almost always annoying, too, ...

That little anecdote reminded me.... I think the best gift I've received in a relationship was a water bottle. (As in, the sturdy kind; a Nalgene ripoff.) I'm not sure if that says something about thoughtful gifts (I drink a lot of water, and usually carry some container around with me all day), or ...

Each state has the power to regulate it; however, I believe it's 18 everywhere. (Anyone know of anything different?) I thought likewise with drinking. Technically it's a state decision, but they get Federal pressure to make the ages 18 and 21. Otherwise, they lose highway funding. Edit: And doesn't...

I think it would be interesting if a class in religion was offered in public education. This class would offer a purely subjective view to all religion so that children would know what each one was and be more understanding of the different types of people they would encounter. Offering this at a y...
