After just finishing reading Ender’s Game for the first time, I’m not enthralled with the novel. However, I’ve found that the science fiction genre has been a bit more challenging for me to read, as it doesn’t really hold my attention. With Ender’s Game, I think it’s possible that I may...

So there's this thing that many action videogames do these days..., I call it the "delay and bum-rush" technique. Basically the game finds a reason to keep you trapped in one place for x amount of time while you are assaulted with wave after wave of enemies. Maybe your "partner" ...

So, just out of curiosity, how many of you ladies would be okay with dating a shorter man? Conversely, how many guys would date a taller lady?
I would *love* to date a taller woman. Unfortunately, with my height the chances of that are slim to none.

That's neat. It never occurred to me that the lake was a real place. Of course, when I first read EG I didn't realize that Eros is an actual asteroid either. What's next, Lusitania is real too?! Isn't Lusitania a historical battleship or something? I remember seeing part of a special about it on th...

Finished The Caves of Steel. A little disappointed in the conclusion; it felt a little cheap compared to other Asimov books. But it was still a very fun read.

The minute you force someone to read/listen/experience any form of art, you've tainted it for that person, IMHO. One of the joys of art is the independent discovery and exploration of it. Telling kids what books to read isn't even the problem. The problem becomes when you tell them how to read them,...

I think a huge part of the problem is simply that some of you read EG back in the 70s or 80s and then read ES in the 90s (or whenever it was first published,) so it's almost like the Ender quartet and the Bean quartet are two completely different sagas that happen to involve the same characters. I r...
