I totally agree. Some of my favorite books of his are standalones: Pastwatch, Songmaster, Worthing Saga.
I wish he would leave all of these prequels and spin-offs alone and just finish the series once and for all. Though, I guess he's thinking of making money for retirement or whatever.

Am I the only one thinking that we really don't need SIX Formic War novels? I mean, come on.
I'd really prefer him to get on that Shadows Alive/descolada book. Grrr.

I agree. I liked River and Ten's chemistry a lot better. Eleven seems too young for her.But I can't help the thought that her story line would be more enjoyable with the 10th. I re-watched the 11th's run again and something is still off about him in my mind.

The boycott is not about shunning the work, I love his work, it's about not giving him the money and therefore the power to influence decisions concerning gay marriage and homosexuals in general. Except OSC isn't making any money off of ticket sales from the movie at ALL. http://www.salon.com/2013/...

Re: "I HAVE SEEN THE MOVIE AND I MUST TALK ABOUT IT" Thread
I went in with very low expectations and actually came out feeling pleasantly surprised. There were a lot of flaws, of course, but more than anything when walking out of the theatre I wanted to start rereading the book immediately--not because the movie was wretched, but because it reminded me of h...

Hey there. I was around back then. You can spend lots of time checking out the wayback machine, some links work and some don't, but you may be able to find your user name:

Thanks guys, I appreciate it. I'm really doing okay, not sure if it hasn't sunk in yet. My mom is a mess, so I'm trying to be there for her. Today, I helped her write up the obituary and make up a program for the memorial service on Saturday.

bob, My grandmother passed away today. She was my last living grandparent. She had come to live with my mom a few weeks ago and went into hospice care. She was 89 years old. She was mostly unconscious the last few days. My mom and I were holding her hands when she died. It was the first time I've ev...

That's funny. I would have been like "ooooh" and looked closer. I'm so obsessed with childbirth for someone who is never going to have a baby. I've read books, watched documentaries, etc. Someday I will get to be at a live birth, someday!

I'll be seeing it opening night, probably with a large group of friends. I'm not expecting too much. Just an entertaining movie and the nostalgia of having waited 20+ years to see the movie version of my favorite book.

I posted this on FB but for anyone who missed it, this is a 5 week old kitten that Pheeny met at the vet. Pheeny was a little grumpy because she had to get a shot of antibiotics.
