I thought the "Major Geek Meltdown" Thread said "Major Greek Meltdown" and I was really confused. It makes a lot more sense now.

It pretty much sucks to know that your football season is over with more than half of the year to go.

I like that quote. And I may steal it from you.

I'm not really sure it would really happen, but I would say that I'm happy.

I also think that personal preference is very different than thinking something is better written than something else. A personal example: Xenocide is my favorite book of the series. However, I know EG and SftD are better written. With the more experience thing, I think that is hogwash. The two seri...

The Yankees are evil. Be decent and root for the Mets, for godsake.
Ghah! While the Mets might not be as bad as the Yankees, they are still pretty evil. I'm convinced most sports teams that come out of New York are. Except for the Jets, and maybe the Islanders.

I don't think that it just boils down to the subject. I agree that the geopolitics and military vs philosophy has a great deal to do with it, but I also feel the Speaker series is just better written too.

This is an interesting question... Now I will always try to help people with small things. If someone is struggling with a lot of bags or something, I will offer to help them carry them. If someone drops a lot of papers on the floor, I'll help them pick them up. I think you should always try to help...

Well it was a successful sports weekend for me. With baseball dead to me, I turn to football and hockey. Although I really can't believe the Rockies are up 3-0 on the D-Backs. Well I watched the phillies lose.

I have season tickets to the eagles, but the season may be a lost cause if tomorrow doesn't go well.

I am most excited about the flyers though. They look pretty damn good through three games. Home opener is tonight, so I'm pumped for that.

I find that lacking. That is circumstantial evidence. It may be good for Moses, he thinks he talked to God. But what does that do for me? God never revealed himself to me. Even if God did reveal himself to me and I go around saying, "God does exist. He has shown himself to me.", how does t...

The only difference between a theist and an atheist is they have chosen to believe different ways. The extreme on both sides would have you believe that the other is just ignorant. Truly, the only since there is no way to "know" that there is no God, agnosticism is the only atheistic beli...

Yeah, but I'm saying that the atheists DO have better evidence. And, given the chance, and an intelligent person to discuss things with, I can prove that there is no reasonable, functional, meaningful, non-self-contradictory definition of God. Steve, I think the problem is right there. You say that...

First off let me state that I really wasn't saying either side has better evidence. But people whom believe, think that the bible is valid evidence. They can't prove it is valid. And they can't prove the existence of God. And by the same token, you can't prove he/she/it doesn't exist. Both sides bel...

I don't think anyone who truly believes something will change their mind just by someone else telling them something. If that is all it takes for you to change your beliefs, then you probably didn't truly believe it. Once someone is set in his/her beliefs, they are very hard to change, even if the p...

I think it just has to do with the evidence. Theists believe the holy texts are truth, atheists don't. When two sides differ on the validity of the ecidence, it is going to be a lot harder for the sides to come to an understanding. For example, a typical debate: Theist: This is what I believe and wh...

And Val, I love ellipses and they definitely have their place, but putting them after every sentence is just not cool.
