I'm graduating on Sunday... assuming I survive tonight with the project and the studying. I'm graduating with a degree in linguistics (and if anyone asks me how many languages I speak, I will murder someone).

As far as future stuffs, I have a place to live... that's about it.

Yes, every so often I come out of lurking long enough to make a post or two, then fade back into limbo. Having never read the book or seen the movie, I can't really make much comment on the Andromeda virus. However, in the trailer they specifically say that the virus can communicate and mutate itsel...

May be a bit of a stretch, and if they are related, descolada is probably based on andromeda strain rather than the other way around. Andromeda Strain is based on a book written in 1969, 17 years before Speaker for the Dead.

I was going to say I wasn't really intimidated by anyone specifically (although I was definitely intimidated by the board in general), but then you had to mention Leto. He was terrifying for the first little bit I was here. I did eventually get used to it, though.

Okay, I know facebook gets a bad rap, and it has been going downhill recently (esepcially since they removed the ability to find people in your classes) but I still find it extremely useful. I keep in touch with all my close friends, but it's nice to have a casual way of keeping in touch with people...

I don't think anyone's going to be "brought back to life" by time travel. Hiro already dealt with that when he tried to save his father.

Speaking of time travel, though, what happens to the Irish chick (I can't remember her name), who got stuck in a future that now no longer exists?

Not to bring actual logic into a discussion of English punctuation rules, but to me, the comma represents a pause in the speech stream, and when I'm speaking, I pause after every item in the list, including the second to last one, so I prefer to put that comma there. Just my 2 cents.

MST3K

It was on the a couple of different networks during the 90's, including the sci-fi channel, and an episode will pop up here and there from time to time... great show.
Is it really unknown? Almost all of my friends at least watched it, and a couple of them have it on DVD.
