They didn't even use the best citations to support their propositions! (But I still love it. Because I'm a dork.)

House hunting... (Pre-approval from the bank was pretty painless. But actually finding a place we want to call home: not so much.)

Never, ever say this to anyone in Chicago. Now that you're living in the Chicagoland area, you're required to grow a mustache and cheer only for Da Bears.

Re: Complete Randomness

That's a good rule to follow, specially if you travel in time. Remember what Doc said. The encounter could create a time paradox, the results of which could cause a chain reaction that would unravel the very fabric of the space time continuum and destroy the entire universe! Granted, that's a worse...

It's still super awkward to have random people tell me, "Hey, I saw you on TV last night."

Also, I refuse to actually watch myself. Because that's just weird. Absolutely hate it.

I'm also a little amused that not all of them have pictures in them yet, so you see some of our family and some random stock family and/or stock scene. First you came down with the flu. Now you have not one, but two fever blisters. Your lips are so swollen they're bigger than Janice the Muppet's lips! And the legislative session started today. You don't have time for this!

Why have all be 4 except like a light bulb instead of having it split between 2 3-syllable and 2 4-syllable words/phrases?
Because the meter seems off when it's split like that?

George Washington has 4 syllables, just like monopoly and pinocchio. Why on earth would you suddenly switch to 3 instead?

When singing, we've always emphasized the second syllable in all 3 of those words/names.

George Washington. Columbus doesn't even have the right number of syllables.

Re: Things that I'm afraid of

Probably the best thing you can do is to relax about it. Just remember: it's only a test. I don't know how much prep you've done, but there are only 3 types of questions: logical reasoning, reading comprehension and analytical reasoning. The logical reasoning has two sections. Both of the logical re...

Re: Gun Control

I dispute that having weapons would have done them any good. And yet, for more than a century, genocidal governments have disarmed their victims before carrying out the deed. I wonder why that is. In the end, armed citizens can do very little against organized armies. So we should make it easier fo...

Please. Tell me ending the assault weapons ban was a good, necessary thing.
Connecticut has its own "assault weapon" ban, based on the (expired) federal law. The firearm used was not an "assault weapon" under either law.

Depends on the brand. Oberweis products are typically in glass bottles for half gallons, plastic bottles for anything less. Most brands I see do plastic for gallons and half gallons, cartons for anything less.

You folks talking about the expired "assault weapons" ban know the ban was based purely on cosmetic features, not on the actual functions of the firearms, right?
