Re: Answer as you please

Okay, correct me if I'm wrong, but you're asking if the described lines of reasoning are all conscious or whether OSC details the subconscious ones as well? I think it rather depends on the character, but (I never thought I'd say this, but) it's been a while since I read ANY of the books. It is stat...

Re: PEOPLE: DROP IT WITH CARD'S VIEWS ON HOMOSEXUALITY PLEAS

Except OSC isn't making any money off of ticket sales from the movie at ALL. While Card won’t profit directly from movie revenues, the author continues to earn money from sales of the original book, which has soared to the top of the New York Times Bestseller List "Ticket sales" being the...

Re: PEOPLE: DROP IT WITH CARD'S VIEWS ON HOMOSEXUALITY PLEAS

Okay, good one for pointing out the inherent irony in intolerantly calling someone a bigot and shunning them, having recently gone through some religion-based struggles, I have studied a few aspects of this and some other seeming paradoxes, bu here's one you may've missed - calling the boycotters &q...

Okay, I may read some posts later but I'm tired and just thought I'd say - I'm glad they've stopped making the Doctor younger and younger. I hope to see DW become less shiny and I guess filmlike and go back to its original form of a funny, dark, appealing-to-specific-audience, cult TV series, instea...

Hehe, I did enjoy that line, even put in the middle of the Dalek Invasion movie with Peter Cushing... I didn't like the movie as a whole...

Also, that is a fantastic price for DVDs and Who at that, but there are sooo many of them - I really need to expand my own collection.

On the season finale - I liked it. I enjoyed it more than most of the other episodes in season seven and have hopes that the writing'll pick up, but it looks to get VERY much darker, so yeah... darker hues indeed.

I like your point about species diversity, but I think that habitat would supercede morphic connectivity as far as evolution was concerned. I's thinking about how it might be applied to computing, a "Sheldrake machine", so to speak. Google Sheldrake. (Also, chances are spell checker doesn'...

Phone numbers. Nice ones, that is. Some numerical sequences are just plain ugly.

Also, making a mug of coffee in total darkness that tastes decent and without spilling anything. Part of my campaign not to rely on my diminishing sight.

There were very few things about Pitch Perfect that I didn't like but they're so minor, I'm not counting them. Hilarious movie with a pretty damn good soundtrack. Recommend. As I've been told countless times, "It'll take you five minutes to Google it and find out." And, lucky for you, it really WILL take only five minutes or thereabouts because, as far as I know, you don't take a full minute to read a line of an article! Isn't that fan-smegging-tastic? IF I'd ...

A few months of silence... I propose a new subject, if anyone's interested. I've recently become a little more interested in morphic fields as a partial explanation for coincidence, which I hold to be non-existent. Everything in the world is linked in one way or another, thus common features of seem...

Buggers and Zombie Movies

I was wondering about what it is that makes zombie movies so scary (to some). I ran through elements in my head; music, jump-scares such as loud bangs and zombies popping out of nowhere, gore... none of these freak me out. No movie or TV show seems to freak me out anymore so I thought back to the la...

I'm careful to avoid reading stuff about episodes I haven't seen on the internet and so Amy's and Rory's departure had the full impact on me. Thread of the Absurd

I love the idea of the absurd, the unexpected, the scarily cereal. It's something that has always interested me. Random stuff that doesn't make sense, copletely disconnected views of reality. To give you two ideas of what I'm on about, I'll use examples of my own and Douglas Adams' writing. In the b...
