Dear you,
You literally inspire me. I hope you don't mind that I have stolen some of your techniques and planning ideas to make myself more accountable to my goals.
Sincerely,
Me

Re: Complete Randomness
I just positioned my laptop for a standing desk setting. It has been 5 minutes and I am a lazy pants chicken who is not going to last at this. Especially because I don't think this shelf supports much weight...

Re: Currently Reading / Just Read (Books/stories/whatever)
And yup. My second Butler. My next will probably be Kindred. How did you like it, and what was your first? I liked it well enough but I am not sure which of the two major theories I subscribe to-- that it was written on more of a lark or if it was intended to be a series. I like the idea of a serie...

Re: Currently Reading / Just Read (Books/stories/whatever)
Yeah, I think I mentioned before that I didn't like it very much. I don't see myself giving LeGuin another chance. Fledgling? As in, Octavia E. Butler's Fledgling? I will probably still read Earthsea. I've done Lathe, Dispossed, and Left Hand, but I know a lot of people who are partial to Earthsea....

In shallower girly news, my mother just cut 4-5 inches off my hair with scissors and electric clipper-thing. I think we are in disagreement with how big in inch is.

Re: Car Talk
I can't wait to get rid of my car. By which I mean, move back to a place I don't need one. I drive a 12 year old Honda. It is about one major problem away from not being able to justify fixing it. My insurance company (who happened to be the insurance company of both people who hit me) tried to get ...

Re: Currently Reading / Just Read (Books/stories/whatever)
I have come to terms with the fact I am never going to like a LeGuin novel as much as I anticipate, based on content, I will. Alas.
Notable reads this week were Fledgling, One for sorrow, and I finally read World War Z!

Who does your friend Google think you are?
It got my age range & gender right, but thinks I am exclusively interested in Computers/Software & Intellectual Property law. Which is kind of random.

Re: Confessions of a 20-something mother
I know people who talk about times in their lives where books were their only friends, ie in the awkward middle school days. I kind of feel like I'm going through that now, and I'm not sure if I mind. I'd rather read a novel than go hang out in a cafe with an awkward high school friend and be slight...

Good luck!!
I have an appointment with a reproductive endocrinologist next week. That sounds like I'm trying to get pregnant, which let's face it, is super hilarious.(Since I can't even say the word that starts with an S)

I don't want to buy it but my confession is I've been reading all the spoilers I can get my hands on.Confession: I have no great desire to read Shadows in Flight any time soon. And I actually liked the Shadow books. I'm sure I'll get around to it eventually but right now I don't really care.

Re: The Race Relations/Diversity/Equality Thread
I do agree that mixed race babies are cute, though My mother has like, latched on to this- she explicitly wants me to have a happa baby. She told me this a couple of years ago and I made the mistake earlier this week of telling her about a friend who had just moved back to Hong Kong and she asked me...

I'm currently on pace to finish December 3rd, though I'm hoping to beef up my word count enough today to so at 2,000 a day I can finish on time. Of course, because I cheated, I am still wayyy behind what I should be at. Though I finally re-read quite a bit and edited most of it so it is a cohesive ...

I had a lot of time to think about this in traffic this evening and came to the conclusion that I would specifically like a higher emotional and social intelligence level. My mother has been trying to get me to work on it for a few years now, but I haven't really progressed past the let's not when i...

Re: Ender Wiggin HAS BEEN CAST!!!!!
Last month in a hotel computer room, I found script pages for another movie involving a character named Achilles, but it seemed to be set in Boston. I IMBD-ed the casting company and they didn't seem to be attached to the Ender's development.
I was very disappointed.

I am at 33,200 and those last 100 words to catch up are very elusive, especially since I should have been in bed 15 minutes ago. How is everyone else who is participating doing?

If I write the minimum tonight I'm at the halfway point, but I'm really not, because I cheated, as usual (though this is the only year where I've made it past like 10,000, which is real progress). I started writing the week before because we were supposed to, so I still need to do 2,000 a day for th...

I didn't go to pre-school either. I refused to go to at least 5 pre-schools before my parents finally gave up, so I ended up spending every day playing by myself while my friend's mom mildly made sure I didn't hurt myself while all the other kids were at pre-school. (I also begged to be home schoole...
