I need help finding a passage. PWEB ASSEMBLE!

I need to find the passage in which Valentine (I think it was her) is describing philotes. The one I am looking for is the one in which the character describes lovers lying next to each-other feeling as though they were one, and that actually being the case because of philotic bonding. Unfortunately...

On of the funniest ways I have ever heard bisexuality described was something I overheard at a bar. This guy said, "I don't really think of myself as being bi. I am just very sexual, and not very picky."

(On a side note)

I LOVE your user name Eaquae Legit. But it has been so long since I have had a Latin class that I am struggling with the little tag-line below it. Is it "Drive that which drives you"? In a sort of 'don't be mastered by anything' kind of way?

Ha ha. I wouldn't worry too much about staying on topic. That's one of the benefits of the Off topic forums, in my opinion. It allows very stream-of-consciousness discussions.

Man, I wish my high school had had Ender's Game in the curriculum.

The extra texture that stubble provides may be a turn off to some girls while kissing, but it works wonders on other areas of the body.
I'll be sure to tell her this. See if she's willing to give it a try.

Cool! So fledgling authors come to you, trembling nervous wrecks with manuscripts in their hands, and you decide whether or not they have to go back to working at Starbucks?

I have to admit, I am going to feel like you are judging my grammar from now on.

I think that book has very clear themes: the ineptitude of government and survival most notably.

Ha ha ha. I imagine you are quite lost. I moved this over from the EnderVerse forum. It came from thread in which we were discussing EiE. Are you talking about themes in literature? Metaphors that run throughout the work? Yes. Whether or not themes belong in books? Whether themes make books better o...

The author's influences would always seep in unconsciously unless they were extremely good at getting rid of them. Actually, now that I think about it, I remember being absolutely floored that OSC could write so convincingly the views of an Atheist character (Bean) for so long. I guess that is more...

Plus, girls seem to take to the stubble. My girl doesn't. It's a shame too, because I kind of like the stubbled "nerf-herder" look. But for her, the stubble is just too pokey. It's fine if I have a full beard, because that is soft hair. And it's fine if I'm clean shaven, because that is s...

This particular branch of the discussion began when someone was complaining that the motif of family life made him apprehensive about the Shadow series and EiE because a book having a motif reminded him of reading done in school. Okay, so you read and analyze some books in school because they remain relevant to contemporary social matters, and others because they have a timeless appeal. That's fair enough, but I don't really see what point you're trying to make or what you mean to discuss. :? I mean to discuss the reasons f...

wth? You read books with motifs in school because then you can analyze their effect on society and such. I disagree. The Hive Queens do have some regard for individual life, as Valentine points out in CotM. They are, however, more willing to sacrifice individual lives for the good of the species than most humans tend to be. They already had the cocooned Hive Queen hidden on their other world for Ender to find. If ...

In what order should they be read?

My girlfriend recently asked me to read the EnderVerse novels to her. (Part of this thing that we have started doing in which we read our favorite books aloud to each other -- lots of fun, and can be quite romantic when combined with a bottle of wine and an evening-in together.) Anyway, I went ahead...
