Now 3/4ths the way through Earthborn. Surprisingly, it is actually my favorite book in the Homecoming series so far. The other four just seemed like rehashes of each other - the conflict between Nafai and Elemak just regurgitated itself over and over again. No one (other than Zedorab and Shedemeh) s...

I'm about halfway through Earthfall now. I've never been able to figure out why Elemak is such a jerk. You keep thinking he's finally been humbled, and then he comes back and does something stupid. I'm right at the part where he brutalized the "angel" and then got back to camp and had Ayat...

Finished it last night. Loved it. The ending was the best. OSC is the only author that consistentlys brings tears to my eyes with the emotional impact of his storytelling.

This book is a gem - it's going to be one of my favorite OSC works.

Since the introduction of the "Stasis" in Ender in Exile, couldn't Bean and co. just go into stasis for the duration of the flight? People in Stasis wouldn't age (at least not that much) according to Ender in Exile. And since Bean's departure to space happens chronologically after Ender's...

Shadows in Flight is the next scheduled Ender book (unless some new book about how Ender and Val almost got a cute double wedding on another planet comes out, lol). but it will probably be two or three years before it comes out. In general, OSC writes another book or two or three in between the End...

I thought Arkanian Delphiki was far too stupid to be the child of Bean and Petra. Let alone have Anton's Key turned.

I'm about two thirds of the way through, right at the part where Lannick arrives in Briton. This book has some of the best one-liners I've ever heard from OSC. I always end up laughing uproariously at random times when I'm reading

Something else that REALLY bugs me about this book ... I'm listening to the Audible presentation now ... How in the heck did Ender become so eloquent? Where did he pick up all the military jargon, and learn the military codes and regulations? When did he have time to do all of that stuff. The letter...

I picked it up on Tuesday, and finished it in one sitting. I always do that ... and it sucks because I'm so excited to get through the story that I always end up skipping/skimming and missing important plot details. Anyway, I've now got the Audio version. I like listening to the audio presentations ...

I just bought Ender In Exile. Tonight, I'm turning off TV's, laptops, workstations, and celphones, lighting a fire (in the fireplace), and doing some good old fashioned reading!! Maybe a beer or two. Okay, I'll leave the celphone on ... but I'm definitely looking forward to digging into this book to...

It sounds kind of like Anton's Key too. I've started it - haven't been able to finish it yet. I was thinking Anton's Key, as well when reading. Card is very good with storytelling through dialog - evoking emotion through interaction of characters. Even in some of Cards stories where I felt the stor...

I love the battle school jargon ... especially the way Rudnicki pulls it off in the audio versions of the book: Somebody dance on your head, Mama? I be crazy, too, Little Buddy. Two far eating armies at once? We'll kick their buuuuuuuttts " Nobody ever beat Dragon Army, either. This be your big...

I like the Speaker series more, but I actually prefer Ender's Shadow to Ender's Game. Both of them are wonderful books, of course, but I enjoy Ender's Shadow because you get a much clearer idea of what is going on. In fact, I like the whole Shadow series because it casts light on everything that you...

My favorite OSC book of all is Speaker for the Dead. Pastwatch was also excellent. Moi, Aussi. Speaker for the Dead Pastwatch And then all the rest. I really enjoyed the Worthing Saga. I liked Enchantment, and Pandoro's box scared the Bejeezus out of me (I enjoyed it). I've only read the first of t...

In Shadow of the Giant, during the meeting where all of the Jeesh Members (minus Hanzu and Alai) met with Graff and Mazer - one of the crew mentioned Bean's effectiveness as an actual commander. I can't remember the exact quote, but one of the Jeesh members, when discussing Beans effectiveness as a ...
