Ooh, better have a foil-edition Dark Magician in there for me! Mine got destroyed last year. I did, in fact, delete it. Re-signed up after hearing the news. Go find fault with something else. And before someone starts up the "myspace is for (other) losers anyway" conversation, it's cheaper...

Well, at least some other people cared. MySpace officially apologized and reinstated the pictures. Guess they didn't see anywhere in any Constitution or Bill of Rights of any country that gave people the right to not have to see anything unpleasant. “MySpace’s image review staff has been trained...

In that you're not using it, yes. I was trying to point out that the post was to bring awareness to those that do, not give others a venue to prove how superior they are for not using it. Just wanted someone to care about the poor kid. Didn't want to hear that a bunch of people I don't know are bett...

Okay, all cultural snobbery aside, I know SOMEONE on this site has to use it like I do, to talk to family and friends who are far away. You can't be better and smarter than everything, people. And as for the taking out the words... why, because it's not disgusting and should be tolerated? Screw it. ...

Boycott MySpace

I don't know if any of you are patrons of MySpace, and I know this is a strange way to come out of lurk mode, but just in case... They banned a toddler burn victim's pictures from being posted on a memorial myspace after his death by his parents, labeling them "offensive." This is absolute...

Or, if you're a little bit tech-savvy, you could just find and download a torrent of them and burn them yourself. I, for one, am tired of rewarding Lucas for being a money-grubbing bastard and paying him for everything. So I snagged a couple for free, to make up for the three hours and $7.50 I'll ne...

The dirty notes and such were definitely a thing like 10 years ago when I was that age, but I can also remember being shocked, sitting behind two 13-year-old boys in mass and hearing that one of them had sex with his girlfriend, another girl in our grade. So I dunno... they were kind of following th...

It's not really as Pelagian as it sounds, truth be told. I pictured a bunch of abandoned children too, but there's more too it than lost children. It's kind of a cult classic, but there's really universal appeal, and I have to think it's elitist thinking and general laziness on the part of Americans...

City of the Lost Children is a must-see, especially if you're in a place where someone's already made you watch Lola Rennt. Cinema Paradiso is another great one, also All The Little Animals, but I don't know if you consider British cinema to be foreign.

That, in fact, IS part of that series. One's for Time, one for Mars, one for one of the Fates, etc. That's the only one I've read, but I was intrigued by the idea. The other titles are like Wielding a Red Sword and something about a Skein, right?

I honestly don't remember. It was one of thousands this guy had stacked everywhere, no semblance of order. The cover is orange, though, with a guy in Death's hood.

I'll definitely have to check the other one out. I've been at loose ends lately for something to do, so maybe I need a book.

I guess Anton would have to think of the parts where the key is, Volescu of the fetal Bean, and Bean of himself as he is. I don't know if people can collaborate on something Outside. Plus that's the beauty of the story. You get so attached to Ender, cos like they said, he's just good. And when someone you love dies, even if you could never really talk to them or anything, it sucks. And you cry.

The time that still gets me in Speaker is when Ender's leaving Trondheim and Valentine's all like "I don't hate you! I love you, and when you leave that's my heart ripped out and taken away!" or something like that. That kills me. Also in EG when Ender remembers she's beautiful. Or when En...

While I agree that after Ender's Game, the series takes a definite turn for the more "mystical," I think it was too abrupt a change in the way he found the hive queen. Something like that, I believe, would've sat better on the mind after we learned about (like above, spoilers) how the hive...

Ender wasn't completely invited into battle school until they saw not only a) what he did without his monitor, and b) why he did it. If they left out what he did and why, ie, Stilson's death, they'd have to re-write his invite and change the story.

Capital-F-Word that, yo.

I'm also about to read the whole Chronicles of Narnia series... I read a couple in school, but Duck recently mentioned wanting to re-read The Magician's Nephew. So we're reading it together, and then I'ma read the whole series. Anyone have any thoughts on that one?
