Re: "I HAVE SEEN THE MOVIE AND I MUST TALK ABOUT IT" Thread

It's been a very long time since I've been on PWeb, but the movie brought a lot of the old forumites out of the woodwork. I'd give my $0.02, but it's been a few months since I saw the film and most of the posts above have mentioned what I liked and disliked about the movie. EXCEPT FOR ONE THING (my ...

I'm thinking about it, although I'd much rather write a play. I'll see in about a month when I actually know how much work I'll have to do in November.

Many miles away, Griphook the goblin is sitting in his living room gently stroking the Sword of Gryffindor.

Griphook: Precioussssssss.

Sword: Gotta go.

The sword disappears.
Genius. The funniest thing I've read all year.

What I find to be the most amusing part of this book:

In order for DH to be a faithful translation of a children's novel, most people think it needs a R rating.

Were the golden flames that saved Harry from Voldemort in the beginning ever properly explained? Dumbledore tried to explain it in the dead/not dead place, I think. I read the book in 8 hours so it's a little hazy. The Sorting Hat is engulfed in flames! oh, wait, NINETEEN YEARS LATER it's actually ...

What happened to Santa and the reindeer trying to reach escape velocity to get to Battle School? I would enjoy that so much more than this "War on Santa".

Imagine Santa retro-fitting Rudolph with rockets.

It's either a terrible conspiracy or good satire. Since it has all of the makings of a good satire, my vote is on the latter. P.S. a linguistic plot to destroy the very fabric of a correct and beautiful language with immutable rules that should never be broken. Please tell me which rule in English i...

Thomson has received plenty of death threats, but those are from idiots and they only serve to prove his point that gamers are violent killers. True gamers sent e-mails pointing out all of the reasons why he is wrong. He hates those people more than the death threats. Games are violent, but so is a ...

This is how the world ends This is how the world ends This is how the world ends Not with a bang but a whimper. - T.S. Eliot, The Hollow Men The news leading up to his death was fairly quiet. Leave it in. Ender needs to feel guilty for something. He needs something to make him feel like he is Peter, otherwise that part of the Fantasy Game is meaningless. I got Empire for Christmas, and it was an enjoyable read. Is it Card's best word? No, but it is a good book and shows a future that could very well happen. And that's scary.
