Anyone know if it works with an iPod touch? It lists it as supported on the iTunes page, but does it not require the GPS?

Thumbs up: I get to go home!
Thumbs down: This means leaving Oxford.

Re: "Turn him loose as a theorist..."

Not quite sure how to parse your statement. Can you re-phrase that, please? Sorry. I was trying to say that from an impartial viewpoint, that treats everything the Bible calls 'sin' as equal (as the Bible says is the case) then legalising civil partnerships is no different to passing a law that con...

Re: "Turn him loose as a theorist..."

BWB,

Oh, so that would explain all the Christian protests about heterosexual couples who decide to have civil unions!
To be fair, from a strictly impartial standpoint it's the equivalent of passing a law condoning anything else the Bible states is wrong.

Re: "Turn him loose as a theorist..."

To answer your previous question, no, Christianity (or rather, the New Testament) does not say anything specifically against homosexuality. But it does state that sex outside of marriage is wrong, and defines marriage as the union of one man and one woman. Therefore, Christians believe that 'practis...

Re: "Turn him loose as a theorist..."

Interesting article. Seems to be more focussed on the supposed benefits gained by these theories than the existence or non-existence of a deity, though there are some interesting points in there. Though good grief, American TV has a lot of adverts!

Re: "Turn him loose as a theorist..."

I wasn't providing proof, I was refuting your previous point that a creator god must, in all circumstances, have a creator. Moving the goalposts after the fact does not mean the logic is wrong.

The entire argument was based on IF there is a creator god, THEN.

Re: "Turn him loose as a theorist..."

For your point on OR, I think you're getting confused about the necessary definition of 'complicated'. From an OR perspective, a simple hypothesis is one that requires: 1. A small number of entities 2. A small number of properties of entities God has both of these, being one being with a small numbe...

Re: "Turn him loose as a theorist..."

If you accept the scientific method, then God does not exist. Which way do you want it? What I've just been saying is to show that it isn't against the scientific method. You can't reject one argument by ignoring the scientific method and then reject God entirely on the basis of it. However, if the...

Look, I'm dealing with one point at a time here. I was dealing with your assumption that God requires a creator if the universe does. And if you accept the scientific method, the universe isn't infinite as astrophysical evidence shows the universe is expanding and has been since the Big Bang, before...

Fear not! It's almost certainly salvageable - it's probably the interface between the drive and the USB connector that's gone, not the drive itself. It should be possible to rescue the data just by dismantling it and plugging the drive into a computer directly.

So, if we're to play on an even playing field, BWB, then you are demanding a special playing chip that reads, "THIS CHIP ALLOWS ITS HOLDER TO CLAIM THAT ONE THING THAT EXISTS DOES NOT ACTUALLY NEED A CAUSE" I imagine either it would be a very large chip, or use a very small font, but that...

Re: "Turn him loose as a theorist..."

Scientific fallacy. Cause and effect states that everything that began had a cause. The universe began, therefore it had a cause. God didn't begin, being eternal, so does not require a cause.

Personally, I reject the label of delusional via the definition you provided. I don't believe that the existence of God is contradicted by what's 'generally accepted' to be reality. He may exist outside of our reality, but also within it. And the universe already allows for omnipresence in the case ...

I can't speak for other religions, but over here no-one (barring Catholics) has a problem with contraception. I find it hard to believe it's such a problem in the US - finding a biblical justification for being against it is challenging, I believe.

I think you'd be hard pressed to find evidence to support the theory that Christians 'accept misery on Earth'. A religion based on the teachings of a guy who healed people and told his followers to care for the sick and the poor. A religion that ended the slave trade, started the Fair Trade movement...
