It's kind of surreal. He calls it Stress.

So maybe it is a little applicable. Maybe he was thinking Ender is under a lot of stress.

That is a picture my husband did. It is a very cool picture, seen in full. But I also asked him why he used that one because it didn't have anything to do with the site.

So, is anyone going to design a different logo?

I Am Legend was disappointing. Too many coincidences, and he acted a bit too stupid for a guy who came up with so much brilliance before the movie actually started.

One thing that hasn't been discussed is addiction. I've seen relationships crumble from addiction to pornography. I've seen two divorces. Children losing their father. If you can't not use porn, then you're addicted. Besides addiction, porn bothers me for a number of reasons. First of all, it exploi...

For those of us who say Grace, I like to try to think about what I'm actually saying every time, and be truly grateful. Certain I don't always succeed. In fact, I rarely succeed. But Thanksgiving always brings this back to my thoughts. Farmers have worked hard. Animals gave their live, plants have g...

One other problem with the egocentric vs geocentric is the possibility that if we are the only planet where the Savior was born, what truly sets us apart? That we were evil enough to kill him in the first place, and this is why God sent him here. To the rest of the universe, we are the Orcs. You are...

My daughter had read Ender's Game. My mom was a fan of Alvin Maker. All three of us went and had a 3 generatio...

Interesting. So having a God that loves EVERYONE in the universe is egocentric? Because that one is not a speculation. It's a pretty well established Mormon belief. The thing is, the step after realizing that God loves you as an individual (supposedly egocentric) is realizing that God loves everyone...

Larsen seemed to populate a galaxy (before depopulating it) with humans as well, Mobius. It's a bit of a joke and an embarrassment to some Mormons that he is Mormon. I know who Roddenberry is. I don't get omnipresent from that text. I don't really believe in omnipresent either. Not in the traditional sense, anyway. But I think that is a pretty minor point.

Anyway, I think the last part of the Atheism/theism offshoot thread was about the nature of God too.

Rei is right. We shouldn't mistake a church organization's support of dogma for theology. This would be like mistaking the academic establishment for science. A priest burned at the stake by the Roman inquisition is a poor example of making theology out to be irrational. Religion + Politics is a far cry from theology. Bruno (an interesting fellow I'd like to learn more about) was the one engaging in theology.
